m usin dis fon for 1 year n its battery life very low if ur usin its features such as wap services etc but its standby is quite good .... its kind of a complete phone though each cell has its weakness or a disadvantage but compared to so many good qualities n services its nthin it can sorted out ...enjoy :P

Can you elaborate on whats so childish about... more... love your patriotism about nokia but i have to tell you i have used both phones and htc comes out best because of manythings e.g free nav, wm, i can use android on htc and evern windows 98. the cpu is great and compared to n900 response time is better on htc, battry is better...etc myb compare hd2 to n97.... and i hear HD3 is hear, WOW
me N96!!!! + htc desire!!!!

tom, 11 May 2010thank you for the answer,how about the inertnal memory ram ... moreBoth got 128MB RAM, the 81MB on the 5800 is storage space for applications and so on. 81 is kinda small, so 5800 is not very usable without a memory card.

I cant see smart icons in my text msgs on my n96. Rather it displays symbols . For example if someone sends of a smily face than i can see :) instead. So how can i see there faces. Any application or software for it?

mine had loads of problems, So much voda did me a free upgrade to n97 :)
Mine crashed loads, Camera is better than n97, [strange because its the same] sat nav is ok.
Battery was a joke!!

Lets pull up some complicated web pages and laugh at your HD2. Well, at least HD have flash support, but its not as good as N900 for this.
Windows on a cellfone, the only mobile OS with big loss in market share, going down the drain, what other OS in the history has managed to lose more than one third marketshare in ONE quarter? Its ofcorse unique, no other OS has ever been so bad, its a miracle they still can sell a single cellfone with WinMob.
Snapdragon cpu... No wonder it needs 1GHz, and still its slower than the cortex a8 at 600...
Well known things: terrible camera, bad display (sunlight legibility and color gradients banding), no xvid or divX outofthebox, and inconsistent flash support. All those things are great on N900...
And i hope Nokia will never be stupid enough to use a 4'3 inch screen, HD2 is REALLY too big. If it had a higher resolution then it could be justified, but its same as N900... 800x480, who has that bad eyes that they need so big screen for that resolution? Its like for handicapped ppl.

actually.. No. 5800 has great battery time, and hi res touchscreen, 640x360 vs N96 at 320x240. GPS is a bit better on 5800, but thats just my opinion. Also, it has wifi and 3g, and TV out, so they are kind of equal in connectivity. The cam on 5800 doesnt match N96, and it doesnt have that DVB receiver, if you will ever use it....
The camera and the 16gig internal + microSD card slot is the big advantage of N96. Disadvantage is screen resolution and battery, and internet surfing is ofcorse much better on a touchscreen. So you decide whats important to you =)

Iv been using this since 2008 december the 18th and i must say this the best multimedia device eva! 16gb plus a micro sd slot! 5megapixel cirlzeuis optics af camera with dual led flash. Also has DVB-H TV of witch u can watch tv on it wow and lucky me im from south africa and its free broadcasting! i can watch world cup matches anywear! nokia you truly are the best!

Ray, 30 Apr 2010Hay guys i really need ur help on ths one. I hve 2 choose b... morethats a hard one.. 5230 has some advantages, for example battery life, and much higher resolution + touchscreen. But it doesnt have Wifi! And so bad camera and not even a LED flash, while N96 is among the best camfones around. And memory, out of the box its 2gig vs 16 gig, thats 8x more for N96.
Personally i would get N96, but if you dont need quality photo/video and never use wifi anyway then maybe.... Depends on your personal priorities.
