stefan, 06 Apr 2010to become the n95 succesor it takes a phone who is able to ... moreStefan, we dont have to consider sales rates, look at your calendar, its 2010 now! N900 is the Nokia to look at now (already ordered one, get it next week). N96 and so on is for those buying 2nd hand N-series. But really, sales rates for old fones, its not an issue. Yes, N95 was popular, in 2006/2007, who cares now 3-4 years later?? 6300 was the Nokia bestseller, should we all get 6300 then? (no offense to 6300, was a great fone at its time, just saying that it doesnt matter anymore...)

I currently have six S60 Nokias, the famous N82 included, great fone 4 sure, but i like the N96 more, its the one i would recommend to 2nd hand buyers. If buying brand new then its N900, no doubt.

Got an N96 now! Also have an N95-8GB.

N96 looks great, and is much slimmer and battery life is not worse than N95-8GB,. The slower processors deliver enough performance and saves battery. Forget N95-8GB, and get N96 if you are looking for a good 2nd hand N-series. But both are great units, so if you dont care abt how fat and old fashion look N95-8GB is then go for it.

to become the n95 succesor it takes a phone who is able to prove by it's performances and sales figures that is worthy of that title. That is not the case for n96. The n95 was a milestone product. It had millions of copies sold in a few months and millions more sold until today. Expectations were high when nokia announced the n96. Then came along the bulky n81 inspired n96. The "flagship" was made of plastic giving it a cheap feeling in contrast to the not so cheap price tag. Since it's made of plastic it scratches very easyly. Not to mention the fact that it has a jerky tight slider with control buttons cramed together on the front side with little space between them. The n96 has almoast the same features like the n95: 3g network,5 mp camera(lens cover is not pretected),gps ,hdspa,wi-fi,head set plug, java and secondary camera. The improvements include 16 kb of internal memory which most people do not need that much storage capacity (the n95's memory can be upgraded with micro sd memory cards. The othet improvement is a built in dvb-h tv tuner that i don't believe is in the top of costumers demands. The processor is weaker that the one in n95. It has cpu arm 9 264 mhz compared with the n95's arm11 332 mhz. It has no hardware 3d graffics accelerator, the digital zoom is only 10 compared with 20 of the n95. The built in support for voip telefhony was removed from n96. Battery life is one of the main problems it har a shorter battery life then n95 needing to be recharged a few times a day. In conclusion n96 is not the succesor not a good upgrade for n95 users and a phone that will never equal the n95.

stefan, 04 Apr 2010the n96 was suppose to be the n95's succesor and maybe repl... morestefan you simply hating...yes the N95 will always be a legend, wht hate? the N96 is the rightfull predesesor, the only reason the 95 made it so big was the fact that nokia came up with something "fresh", something out of the "regular joe's" dreams...YOU KNOW IM RIGHT...TRUTH BE TOLD, the N96 is and will always be better than the N95,period...

              moving right along....
i heard that N-GAGE has been discontinued...this means, for all the people that bought the phone for its gaming reasons, that includes tyhe people that own the N81,86 and so forth. our poor NGAGE application will soon be a dead cabbage.....

I bought a Nokia N96, its the best phone i have used till now. i have used almost all the Nokia phone in the market except n97 and n86. compared to all the other phones i have used. Nokia N96 seems to be the best. I am soo satisfied this phone. Its far more better than nokia n95 8gb, nokia 5800............and soo on. i Think the Nokia N96 16gb is the best. but n97 and n86 is is a little better. but compared to all the other Nokia Phones Nokia N96 16GB Is the best.

the n96 was suppose to be the n95's succesor and maybe replacement. The n95's sale rate will be hard to match . The n95 is still enjoing succes even after a couple of years since it was introduced on the market on the other hand the n96 has proved to be "thanks" to an unjustifiable price tag combined with an inability to bring almoast nothing new to this phone in comparance with the n95 , if not a failure then surely a chapter that nokia will try to forget.

the n96 is more of a multimedia device than the n95...its certainly not a good upgrade for n95 users...but its not a bad phone. very much underrated...overpriced though.

i am using a n96. It is a good phone and no more then that. By no means can it be compared with the omnia series of samsung or the htc phones.in my country the price of n96 has only now went below 500 . I believe no one should pay that much on this phone , it's not worth it there are plenty of phones available on the market far better then this one

im planning to buy a new nokia smartphone.

although cpu is low, is it still fast with the latest firmware?

I am deciding to buy this or the e72.
