Everybody agrees that the 2MP almost-camera on the HypePhone is crap compared to the 3-5MP images produced on the Sony-Ericssons, Nokias and Samsungs. The new 8MP cameraphones on the other hand look crap compared to the 5MP models, so no real gain there. So read up on digital imaging first before you spew further nonsense.

Yeah, I heard next year Asus would release a camphone with a Canon APS-C sized CMOS sensor with 15.1MP like that used on the Canon EOS 50D capable of shooting up to ISO 51200. It would also have an Nvidia 9800GTS 3D accelerator running at 2.5GHz with a 2GB frame buffer so you can play Crytek's Crysis on that tiny 3.5" widescreen for around ~8min. before the battery runs out...
That phone would shut the heck out of all the gadget collectors here I'm sure. =P

nokia created n97 just to be in the race in the market.
but they know and cellphone experts know that n97 cannot match up with either SE's Xperia, HTC touch pro, Samsung omnia and Apple iphone 3G.

Sensor tech is still constantly improving of course, but for the tiny image sensors used in camphones, 3-5MP is the most optimal given the current state-of-the-art. Another obvious way to improve image quality is to increase the physical size of the camphone sensor to the smallest used in point&shoot digicams, like 1/2.5" sensors or even 1/1.7". But the camera's lens would also need to become larger and heavier...

they doesnt built more then 5MP camera cause it leaks the phone battery...and if they built 8MP people wouldn't buy digital cameras anymore...

this is not xperia , t... moreJust letting you know HTC's quality is better than most cell phone manufacturers...there phones are solid...I have an N95-8GB and I am disappointed...the quality of this flagship phone is above average at best...there's a slide issue...and the back of the case is loose...same with my friend's N95-1...I also have a DoCoMo P905i from Japan and the quality is perfect...
Back to the N97 I love it...and I hope that the quality is better than my N95-8GB..

Specs look fantastic! The measurements for thickness say 15.9-18.3. I hope it ends up on the thinner side. I'd love to buy this, but I don't need a brick in my pocket! 5MP Camera is also fine. Would rather have a Good 5MP than a mediocre 8MP! Was thinking about a HTC Touch HD but I do Text alot and a hard Keyboard is much better. Hope Nokia keeps the price reasonable. If they do, I'll be buying this!!!
