Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970Joke of the decade. That outdated lump of plastic which is called N96 beat Innov 8, ha ha ha ha. Not even in yr wildest dreams. Did u read GSM arena's review?. They stated innov 8 is the best phone in the market at present. However Omnia & Sony xperia have many admirers. U are talking about a phone that is supposed to arrive after 7 or 8 months which has nothing new to offer. By that time trail blazers like Samsung & sony ericcson would be miles ahead.

The bad news first. Nokia is wayyyyyy late with this. They left the 7710 dead in the water and never enhaced or upgraded it. That was the their first true touch phone (I hate the fact that this is not pointed out more often). They dropped the ball and let Apple eat up the touch screen market. YES, Nokia is the world wide leader, but there is no denying the huge numbers Apple is posting every quarter - in recession conditions. Too cocky, "almost" too late.
The good. I really hate iPhone comparisons. But since they abound, the short end is this. There is no comparrison to this phone and the iPhone. Most people I know, including myself, use their phone for comunication with friends. That menas ring tone sharing, MMS messages - with pictures, etc. The iPhone sucks in this area and DOES NOT COMPETE with the Samsung Omnia, touch HD or this phone. While the iLovers contine to argue about what "is NOT" an iPhone killer they miss that Apple is killing thier pockets with minor upgrdes to a phone that should have come out tf the box - the first time - with such basic and mandatory featues.
I am really excited to see this phone. A couple years late, but excited none the less. I am not excited about the price and the long wait. Nokia seems to be intent of screwing themselves over because, for the moment they enjoy the pole position. Pride can come before a fall...

Same CPU as the 5800, the phone doesn't need a faster CPU with those features!

I am using N95 8GB, was going to switch to Samsung OMNIA, but now NOKIA has fixed its BIG mistake (The mistake was to earn more money without big changes) I hate NOKIA for some time when they realised N96. But now i think i choose N97. NOKIS!!! DONT try to fool your customers, you may bankrupted! Make the best device, than make money:) Otherwise, you are loooser!

IKA, 03 Dec 2008Its got everything, but doesn't have Mobile Windows as OS .... moreTo be brutally honest...i've used a number of windows mobile phones and none of them has been as fun to use or as easy to use as symbian s60..s60 is am extremely stable and extremely capable os..furthermore..for a multimedia device..winmo is most definitely not the best os..if winmo was such a capable os..then htc would see no reason to create their multiple versions of touchflo in order to hide the horrible winmo ui..

DAVID, 03 Dec 2008the nokia is allredy sick with 5 mega camera not advance ca... moreu guys complain about 5800 not having a 5mp camera. and now this phone comes with everything including the 5mp camera, u want 8mp. then when nokia brings out a 10mp camera u dont want to hear about the 8mp camera anymore. just plz stop compalaining and appreciate the wonderful device that nokia has created.

i wanan be sure people do reallize the MegaPixel is due to print size not image quality, differece with a 2 mp and a 8 mp is not quality, but size of print.
5 is more then enough, for my own work with wedding photography 6 is more then enough, though I use higer to print larger then 16x20's

i would any day buy a nokia than a samsung or sony.... try dropping samsung or sony phone on the floor from 5ft or above and then see how it works....nokia phones are as hard as a rock and works perfectly even after dropping on the floor several times...

From the highest score in GSMarena, Nokia lose to X1 and C905, but it simply becoz some SE die hard who give 10 10 10, maybe they are willing to vote tenth times or more in a day, to promote their X1 and C905. So sad to see those desperate SE fans...
They must be so sad seeing gsmarena or phonearena give bad score to their C905, even LG Renoir can beat C905 easily.

Looks like its going to be a great phone. Will definately consider it when it arrives. Pitty that Nokia have not upgraded the camera to an 8mgpx like the Innov8.

I bet if nokia made a 5mp phone that could transform into a robot you would still cry over the mp count. Get real. There is more to a phone than the camera and n97 is living proof. Nothing beats it.

awesome...just what i was looking for...N97 is now a advanced communicator + touch screen....only sad part is Q2 2009...thats really too long to wait...

Nokia is always behind. Samsung is about to release their 12mp camera phone but Nokia is not yet done with their 5mp camera phones. Nokia is just good in marketing strategy. They will make you upgrade from a 5mp camera phone to another 5mp camera phone to another 5mp camera phone. I know a lot of people who upgraded from N95 to N82 then to N96. They don't realize that Nokia is only making money from them.
