Just a wee update to say that's my 4th N97 been returned to vodafone care (overheating problems on charging, actually melted the back panel). Very disappointing experience personally, Really hoped this would be a great phone and happy that many of you have had a good experience. Unfortunately if you get a bad batch or are with a carrier that does not get all the updates (Memory Organiser in my case) Hope the HTC HD2 is a bit more stable, will miss the Radio transmitter and 32GB for sure.

Its been months release of N97, five updates have come, during this period we have gone through havoc.
Now with V20 in oct 09, there is a new issue of boot it stucks at nokia, mem card trick looks cheap, but works. Confirming a issue still exist. For God sake rise from sleep NOKIA, do something or I am to sell my 800$ cell and start distributing pamphlets at all dealers against NOKIA. More they have intro made in China phones like E72 and N97, hell of quality diff in assembly and finish. Either stop making in Finland, as SE all top of line are made there, but quality and specs remain constant. Nokia Beaware, give us a remedy for boot problem, fiddling in office or public with restart problem is ackward.

Hard Reset worked . but lost all my contacts .Have to be more careful of what i install in future. only backup i have is on my nokia 5310.
I could have bought 03 other nokia phones for the cost of this unreliable one

... Hi..The N97 firmware version 2.1 update just got passed by FCC on the 20th of January, 2010. ... It will be available on Nokia Software Updater on January 28th, 2010 at 4:41 pm with Free turn-by-turn voice navigation OVI Maps 3.1. Guys and Gals we are all saved. ..ENJOY...

yo man n 97 rockz..i m wsing it since 6 months roughly...its been very dissapointing for nokia to launch d mini version...i just wanna say that n97 mini sucks...coz mini its self names some cheap chinees version...how about this...i hace hayabusa...yeah same pinch i also bought a mini hayabusa..!!! this will be an insult to the original hayabusa...so people dont buy n 97 mini...!!

My Friend had exactly the Same problem
and he went to nokia care center, and ASked them to Reinstall the Firmware
And they did , AND THE PHONE WORKED

I wish there is a version of this phone that is designed for larger hands because I'm having trouble using its "qwerty" keypad...(my hands are too large for this phone)

n97 is definately the best... working pretty fine for me with a gooood battery life...!
definately a buy for u guys who are still waiting..and yeah i prefer n97 rather than mini
