I re-flashed my Nokia N97 from Philippines V2 to Indonesian V2 to Philippines V2 again to acquire the DOT and COMMA buttons.
Im getting used to the NOKIA LOGO OF DEATH now and Im laughing at myself with no particular reason.
This is a good phone if you dont mind the MODIFIED MEMORY CARD TRICK. Im loving it. Good phone except for the REBOOT problems. lol

I bought an N97 but when i loaded my 900 names contacts it lost its mind completely,i.e. refused to shutdown, screen disappeared, and charecters mixedup, I deleted all contacts, the it turned on normaly. I returned it back to the company and Iam afraid to buy another one again.

Larry, 23 Dec 2009Hi gabby. It only occurred to me that my dropping the phone... moreyes indeed, so your firmware is already v20, mine is still v12.0.026, well not all n97 can update at the same time.
i believe so that dropping was not the cause of 'auto reboot stuck on nokia screen' coz i've read so many reviews of n97 being dropped but no problems (except for physical scratches) are reported.
i agree with you on getting that flashed, though it would cost a bit, but maybe not as high as a new phone

Hoda, 22 Dec 2009Hi Hadi, N97 made in China has been made in China and N9... morei know that dear genius hoda but when u come to a salesclerck of nokia stores rhey'l tel u that the chines model is under the authority of the main company in finland and their qulities are the same i just ask if anyone has had that mentioned celfone to guide me or not . :D

Butterfly, 22 Dec 2009thanks for commenting back so quickly! i really appreciate ... moreif you wana get the n97 get the white 1 it doesnt mess up the cover dono y but its amazing and get a swade pouch 4 it does wonders 4 the phone! all those haveing stress with n97 are cairless!!! thats what i think!!!

It only occurred to me that my dropping the phone could have caused the reboot problems when you mentioned it in a previous post. However, come to think of it I did have the reboot problem before I dropped the phone - my battery went dead and the phone wouldn't turn back on afterwards. I needed to hard reset, but that was before i knew about the memory card trick. So it seems that the problem was probably already there, but it has gotten considerably worse in the past 2 weeks or so. I have performed 5 hard resets..so that definitely doesn't work. I am thinking of taking my phone in to get flashed, even if that solution is only temporary. Remember that the latest v20 firmware is the firmware that the phone should have been released with...so here's hoping that future updates will resolve this issue. I just really hope it's not a hardware problem..I would hate to have to get a new phone!

if your n97's software is lower than version 20, you'll have the transition effect.
go here: settings> themes> general> nseries1(your current theme)> option tab> theme effects> ON
BUT if you have version 20.x.xxx installed which unfortunately what i have, say goodbye to menu transition and say hello to kinetic scrolling.

I downloaded the map using OVI suite still I am unable to get voice navigation and it only shows the current location when I drive. Can we get voice navigaion without a paid upgrade. Can some one plz answer?
