Merry Xmas Nokia Corp. as well as Nokia N97 & Nokia N900 (we will meet very soon :)me n those two devices are gonna have some fun!... Nokia's new year resolution is to incinerate the competition in 2010! With Maemo 6 n the New Symbian 3! :) :) :)

hello i have an N97 myself which has just been returned to t mobile for repair due to the phone refusing to turn on . Is this a common problem ? The phone has been returned and seems to be ok according to the repair sheet the phone has had a firmware update v 20 . If the phone goes t*ts up again is there a method to restart the phone without resorting to returning the phone to base . Thanks cliff

That's my problem - OVI STORE is killing my phone. I wish I could swear but tis will do: !@#$%^

PHONE ADDiCT, 25 Dec 2009i've read some of the comments about this phone, and im wor... morethe main complaints about this phone are about software issues such as instability and bugs. the latest firmware has stabilised the phone, and i find that my phone is faster with it, but it's still not perfect. of course that's not to say that every user will experience problems, my work mate has one also and she has had nor problems with hers. i have a problem with rebooting (it won't turn back on and i have to do a trick to get it to) but that's the only problem i have. some other common problems are poor gps and camera lens scratches, but these were mainly with the early handsets. hopefully your dad got a newer one where these issues were fixed. and if he didn't and the camera lens gets scratched, you can get it repaired for free because nokia acknowledges this design flaw. the phone is great and i hope that you don't have problems that stand in the way of you enjoy it. good luck!

Chris_Skylock, 25 Dec 2009What I noticed is that the Reboot problem now happens at ra... moreat least yours boots up fine occasionally. in the past couple of weeks every time i try to reboot i have to spend 15minutes doing the memory card trick. but that's the only major problem i have with my phone so no biggie. the features of this phone are fantastic..it's a shame that its software is unstable and buggy. oh well, that's what firmware updates are there for, i guess!

While making a purchase decision I am stûck between N97 & Omnia HD. I want to make a decision which I shouldn't regret later on.
guys, which phöne would you recommend- N97 or Omnia HD, or any other in the same league ?

I have noticed that if we use OVi store and install apps from it the phone hangs a lot on reboot and then is Hungry for another format. Do not use ovi store. v20 has loads of bugs

Larry, 24 Dec 2009i love my phone too. only problem is the reboot one. lucky ... moreWhat I noticed is that the Reboot problem now happens at random time. Sometimes it will not boot and later on it will boot fine and then will not. Oh boy. the OS is unstable even when I changed product codes. lol.
I still love my Nokia N97 - nothing can offer a 16M display with keyboard*
*tell me a phone with the same specs, will ya? specially on the keyboard.

If you can handle ti UI not being quite as slick as some of the others and it being as bit buggy it's pretty unbeatable. I love mine ti bits,using firmware 2.0 I haven't had a single problem (apart from the memory card / startup problem).
Satnav great, fm transmitters really usegful, loads of in0built memory.
I also think the keyboard is really good, but then I have got small fingers.
I used to have the iphone 3G 8gb. Whilst it was slick, it didn't do ebnough of what I needed and couldn't multitask.
Nothing out at the mo I'd swap my N97 for
