Chris_Skylock, 19 Dec 2009FM transmitter is not working if I put it on the radio and ... moreif you look in the help section of fm transmitter, it does say that it's supposed to work from a distance of up to 2metres. i have tried it from 2metres and it's not fantastic because there's interference but it works fine up to about 1.5metres. it sounds like there's something wrong with your phone, unless it's the stereo.

FM transmitter is not working if I put it on the radio and someone said it's supposed to by 1 meter or 2. I wonder what's happening to my phone? is it broken?

It'll not boot if I download something from Ovi Services.

Im going to write to Nokia about these problems right now.

Hi, I've previously owned the N79 and now N97. Well the screen is bigger but CPU is very slow don't try to lay a game etc. Symbian is chunky for a phone too insufficient to be an OS.

My application is only usa... morelike another poster said, if email is very important to you, you might want to try out other phones on the market first. The native email client of the n97 is quite pathetic imo, nowhere near good enough for a flagship device. It's ugly, way too elementary. Just pick up an n97 and try out the email, you will see immediately what i mean. There are of course 3rd party email apps, but a smartphone these days should have a good email client out of the box imo.

Sharma P, 18 Dec 2009I am planning to buy Nokia N 97. My application is only usa... moreHi sharma. in my opinion, if email is the most important thing to you, then i wouldn't suggest the n97. the default mail client is rudimentary at best, and while Nokia Messaging (a free email app) works well it is very limited in that you can only access the last 3 days' email, and it uses phone memory. other popular mail clients like profimail and emoze work well but profimail isnt free and free version of emoze only has one email address. if you're happy to pay then fine. i would suggest trying out the phone first, as there are phones out there with better built in mail clients.

                    now to your questions.
a and b. sending and receiving mail speeds are fine. i use nokia messaging and receive mail immediately.
                    c. the latest firmware has stabilized the phone but there is still some occasional lagging or hanging. i updated to v20 a month ago and in that time my phone has hung 2 times. not too bad imo.
                    d. my phone has never overheated or felt too warm.
                    e. i have had the phone for two and a half months and my keyboard keys are as good as new. i have not really heard of any complaints or problems with durability of keyboard.

carlos, 18 Dec 2009my phone seams to be warmer then any other phone. it feels... morei don't think it's normal. it shouldn't get that hot. mine doesn't. as for the battery dropping a bar in 5 hours, it depends on how you use it. if you use it heavily during that time eg. wifi and online tasks, then i think that's quite normal. the battery is ok, but not fantastic. if you want, you can conserve battery by changing network mode to gsm and decreasing screen brightness. i have found that this has improved my battery.

The memory card trick really works but I do frequently change batteries as I dont like USB charging and Im using my Nokia E90 as my charger device.

Im going to write to Nokia about the OVI glitch or if it's possible my phone is a defect but it's over 2 weeks as I purchased it last Nov. 21, 2009. So the store cant replace it now. Whout would Nokia possibly do as I can re-flash my phone same way. I dont think replacing it will do the trick as other countries is doing. This is Philippines, COMPANIES WILL NOT REPLACE BROKEN PRODUCTS. Pfffttt.

Yes, when you run your finger or stylus across the homescreen, the content does disappear and reappears if you run something across it again. Is this what you mean? This isn't something that's new to the v20 firmware update.
