Most operators put sort of a firewall to prevent access to mail servers, so that they can sell their blackberry service. Anyway, it doesen't work for me neither.
Is your pdf reader a trial version or the full version? Do you know of a free pdf reader?

Hi. A friend of mine had a software upgrade on the n97 and now her home screen gets small and then big again when she drags the stylist over it. The screen gets small and then comes back empty? I also had the upgrade but my phone won’t do it in the same way. Is there something that I should be setting up?

Shocked to see stylus short flat with string missing, to my suprise I got same IME no set 45 days late, had been waiting for price to reduce.
Not satisfied after reading everyday comments with performance and screen resolution. Slow as against the Hype created. This shows that N97 has become outdated, with intro of new processor and resolution plus software in market. Nokia farewell from my side. I would stick with this set for years. My hard earned money has been robbed,as 3rd day resale is half.

Hi guys. The N97 that I have has, a 14-day, trial version of the adobe reader. Is it the case for all the packages? Is there a free pdf reader on the net?

So far, it's normal when I downloaded facebook again. If I download anything from the Store or activate the Ovi share and mail, it will (possibly) kill my phone.
Im glad I got a back up copies of my files except for Fring. It got Yahoo! Messenger support and I need it badly.
I cant install Windows Live for some reason. sigh. but that's an option for me.

Larry , 17 Dec 2009That's very strange that only nokia's websites seem to be s... moreIm not stupid and I know the memory card trick but I do want to replace the batteries without doing the memory card trick. I dont have anything installed except for my back up OVI Store files downloaded.
I dont know if I can download anything from other websites but OVI really is a pain in the head and I have it now. Im forced to re-download Facebook again as it got errors.

Chris_Skylock, 17 Dec 2009Im not mad at my Nokia N97, Im mad at Nokia's Ovi websites.... moreThat's very strange that only nokia's websites seem to be screwing up your phone. can you download files from other websites? i presume when you say that the phone won't boot up that it get stuck on the white nokia screen. have you tried turning the phone off (by removing the battery) and taking out your memory card, then turning it on? if it still doesn't work, turn the phone off then re-insert the memory card then turn it on. try it a few times. this usually works for me, and i can avoid having to hard reset. also, do you use another theme on the phone that doesn't comes with the phone? if you do, try reinstalling that theme on the memory card so if the phone gets stuck on reboot and you remove the memory card it will use the default theme. hope this helps

I would have liked the stylus tho I use it on occasion for games (ie blockgo) I been using my DS stylus; works but doesn't feel rite. maybe im just a little picky. oh well

with regard to the other issue about the fm transmitter, with my n97, actually i have to be as close as 3 or so inches to my radio to make the latter receive a good reception.
anyone else having the same situation?
btw, im from the philippines. bought the phone here as well.

..., 17 Dec 2009whats the use of fm transmitter? its useful depending on ones needs. yeah its useful. let's be thankful its there.. How it's useful? Well, one can transmit the music (mp3's saved on the phone) to any kind of radios. How again? by making the frequency of the phone correspond to the frequency on the radio. say for instance, you set the freq. of the phone to 90.0 (default), one must tune the radio to 90.0.

Shxt! My N97 dove like a freakin idiot diver on a concrete floor! Waah! Its metal area where we insert the strap now is damaged. woe ho ho...
The good news however is that the phone still is working sweet as it was before the rampage... whew...
This phone sure is as mad as its user; Quite metallic in strength, despite plastic in feel and view.
My Lesson: Never rely on a strap that you attached on the phone and go carefree about it by hovering it carelessly in the air.
Stupidity precedes learning. This applies to me.

con, 16 Dec 2009the info on the fm transmitter says that you need to put th... moreif you're telling me that the Nokia N97 transmitter is 2 meters and you can do a 1 meter radius broadcast, perhaps our radios here in the Philippines are trash and outdated.
I tried going from 3 meters in radius and I scanned until I confirmed that it's as close as CM.
You're so lucky you can do a 1 meter radius broadcast. I'll just keep dreaming. Hatsune Miku anyone?

Im not mad at my Nokia N97, Im mad at Nokia's Ovi websites.
Everytime I download something from ANY of the Ovi websites (store, mail, share) my Nokia N97 WILL NOT boot up. What's wrong with that?
