Prominent Analysts See iPhone With 'Two or Three-Year Lead' on Mobile Internet Market

Fortune reports on a newly-published research effort from Morgan Stanley which analyzes the mobile Internet industry and in the process points to the iPhone's tremendous early growth and Apple's leadership position in the industry.
Based on past performance, according to Morgan Stanley, Apple is in the "pole position" in the race to dominate mobile Internet computing, which is supposed to be for the 2000s what desktop Internet computing was for the 1990s, personal computing for the 1980s, mini computing for the 1970s, and mainframe computing for the 1960s.
According to Fortune's report, Morgan Stanley analyst Katy Huberty sees the iPhone's massive installed base and application offerings as giving Apple a "two or three-year lead" on the rest of the industry. The iPhone's rapid early growth, which has easily surpassed that of other revolutionary Internet offerings, is seen as evidence of the game-changing nature of the device and the potential for continued leadership throughout the rapidly-evolving industry.

Have been using the N97 for about 2 months now and has just today gone back in for servicing for the 4th time. each time something new goes wrong. issues are: touch screen (replaced 2x) runs out of memory (after hard reset) drops calls, re-boots when it feels like it, all this AFTER the upgrade to V2 (upgrade done by Nokia Care NZ)

Chris_Skylock, 16 Dec 2009I was disappointed in te FM transmitter.I thought it was wi... morethe info on the fm transmitter says that you need to put the phone within 2metres of the radio/stereo. i have used it while being 1metre from the stereo. so i don't think you need to put it as close as a cm. but no, i don't think you will be able to surprise the jeepney driver lol

con, 15 Dec 2009yeh, the fm transmitter is very cool. i use it at work. lov... moreI was disappointed in te FM transmitter.I thought it was wireless with range but I was wrong. You HAVE TO PUT IT on the radio within centimeter. My dreams on broadcasting my anime music to the jeepneys in my country was crushed. T_T
I tried it on my aunt's component and it was running fine when I put it on top. If I do the same with the jeepney radios, I would be detected and they will get mad. huhuhu

N97 is bigger and ... morei haven't yet had the chance to use the mini, but some reviews online have said that in general, the mini gives a better user experience than when the classic first came out. Also, the keyboard is better with more rubberized keys for faster typing. I also don't think that the mini has had the problems that the classic had at release (eg poor gps, general hanging and instability issues). I suppose nokia got it right the 2nd time round. The main differences between the two are obviously the pocket friendlier size of the mini, and its far inferior mass memory (8gb vs 32gb).

N97 is bigger and ... morewell,they are the same and they madee n97 mini more stylish.i myself prefered n97 'cause of :32 gb storage,bigger screen and D-pad.if you like this features go for n97 but if you prefer style and more pocketable phone then go for mini version.don't forget to upgrade the firmeware.

One question. Im buying this one or n97. N97 is bigger and it has a protective cap on its camera, but this one is metal and with the brown finish it looks ssoooooo cool and stylish. im not sure which one to get and the price is the same. please help
