sam, 03 Dec 2009the problem is battery... it goes just for one day for me. ... morethat's strange. 3hrs of wifi and a few calls shouldn't completely drain the battery. make sure your homescreen widgets are off, and turn your network setting to gsm (settings > connectivity> network then choose gsm). also you could lower the intensity of the screen.

the problem is battery... it goes just for one day for me. i use wifi a bout 3 hours and make 30 minute calls and it goes off.

no mentioning of WLAN but whatever. I dont mind at all about auto-connection but it's still annoying if it reduces the battery life. lol.
Thanks for the tips and I will monitor every options there is on my N97. Im just exploring every bits of it so it will take some time to getting used to it.

Takes some time getting used to, but now I type really fast. I imagine it would be a big improvement from a touch screen at any rate.

I bought the N97 after what I thought would be a great phone from reading many positive reviews, but my personal experience was very different. The N97 turned out to be a nightmare and I suffered two days of it freezing, needing to hard reset it twice and eventually losing the wi-fi connection on it. I DO NOT RECOMMEND NOKIA, I had great respect for it before, but not anymore, they don't even bother to place on their website or operating manual how to hard reset the N97, which I suppose needs to be done when the phone freezes. DO NOT BUY the N97.

Lucky Hawk, 02 Dec 2009i totally agree, no problems in the software whatsoever. bu... moreI have had one or two problems with hanging, but that was before the v20 firmware update. Since the update 3 weeks ago, I haven't had to reboot my phone once. As for the battery, I think the recent firmware has worsened battery life. Before the update, I was able to get about 2 days, but now I only get 1. The widgets are offline and I don't have an unlimited data plan with my carrier, but I do use it for texting and calling a lot, and I play games.

ok im getting this mobile....HOPE ITS gud.....n does the battery really gt down fast....caus even i use the mobile for abt 5-6 hours straight....well IT does look hot....hope the music level is good....i previously owned an e66 sound system totally sucked....hope this ones loud!!

This phone is perfect for me. Have had it for 2 months and have had no major problems. After getting this phone I realised that having a keyboard is a necessity - typing is so much faster. Very happy with this phone.

I just plugged the internet and my Nokia N97... morei thought you changed the "search for wlan" option to never? and it still connected? maybe you have your internet as your default connection. you can change this by going to settings > connectivity > destinations then options. then default connection.
