Anonymous, 30 Nov 2009I have N97 for 5 weeks now... Firmware 2.0 is better but th... moreit is clear you dont have an N97 and u r a samsung fan. stick to your samsung, and dont talk crap about Nokia and things you dont even know about.
all the issues you said are not in the new firmware V20. stop lying to pple. V20 is stable and no problems at all.

Masesizo, 01 Dec 2009How do you back it up?you can use nokia pc suite on your pc to backup contents. if you don't have it you can download it from nokia website. then connect usb cable to phone. it's pretty self explanatory once you open up pc suite.

To conserve battery, you could switch widgets to offline mode, as constantly updating the home screen eats up power. You could turn screen brightness to lower level. I also looked online, and apparently using GSM instead of dual mode or UMTS uses less battery. To do this, go to settings> connectivity> network> network mode then change to gsm. Some users have said that they get 2-3 days battery life without charging. I'm going to try this myself and will report back.

levis makati, 01 Dec 2009do other map applications will work with this new phone?googlemaps works perfectly with the n97. im my experience it's even faster than ovi maps, although you have to be online to use it.

Yes the E72 I bought for my gf today did come with a pouch. When I bought my N97 a few months ago there was a stylus in the box and a pouch, I bought a non Nokia screen protector which was a hell of a lot cheaper than the original, not sure where you are but there are hundreds of phone accessory shops here in the Philippines that sell those.

And The Fruit Phone already has skype for quite some time, But It Is Still missing on this phone:(

had it 10 days ago. Upgraded it to v20. Great phone. No problems whatsoever, except for a short battery time. I admit that i use the internet over Edge for around 3hrs with a couple of calls but this is not enough reason to drain the battery by the end of the same day. My old e51 would last 4-5 days without recharging with a higher average use, although nokia specs give 4.5 hrs for e51 vs 9hrs for n97 for gsm use. Could it be that having the screen lit (while browsing) drains the battery faster?
Any thoughts on that battery problem?
How do you, n97 users, rate your personal battery experience?

I guess you'd just have to ask the shop when you buy it; tell them that you know about the acknowledged camera lens problem, and ensure that if you do buy it, you will be able to get it repaired/replaced free of charge should you run into problems.

How should I know that the phone I want to buy is preliminary fixed for lens scratch and is new series? The product manufacture date should be after what time to be sure about that? And if this new series cover all manufacturers like china or just Finland N97 series?

stephanie, 30 Nov 2009how can i tell if an n97 is a real nokia n97 and not a clon... moreIf you google it, there are a few articles about how to spot a fake. Off the top of my head, I think the screen is a bit smaller, and the keyboard looks different (the backlight of the numbers and symbols is orange instead of blue). Also I think the home button is black instead of silver. You can go to nokia shop and ask them to verify the authenticity of your phone. To avoid getting ripped off with a fake (eg on ebay) stay away from anything mentioning "chinese version". These are fakes.

Anonymous, 30 Nov 2009please helllppp mee, How long can you watch a movie with No... moreif you watch movies often, then i don't think the battery will fare too well assuming you also do other things eg web browsing, calls etc. you will need to charge daily. my advice would be to invest in another battery. it would be well worth it if you use your phone for a complete multimedia experience.
