I've had the phone for almost two months and after some niggling problems with it (mainly hanging and phone not turning on), since updating to firmware 2.0 it handles much better. I now feel like I'm able to use the phone to its full potential. It's also snappier and kinetic scrolling enriches the overall experience. Also, I dropped the phone onto concrete last week and was very pleased that all it has to show for it is a little scratch on the side. At that moment, I was very relieved that I didn't get a capacitive screen phone!

Marzuk , India, 30 Nov 2009Hai friends..now am using nokia 5800xm...am really like to... morei think the white one looks more stylish, but like someone else said it is a dirt magnet and you will probably see scratches etc more clearly. i have the black one, and have dropped it a couple of times, and you can barely see the scratches. don't think the white one would fare so well.

Anonymous, 30 Nov 2009please helllppp mee, How long can you watch a movie with No... morei don't watch movies on my phone so can't give you a specific answer, however my experience is that you will have to charge the phone daily. i actually think that since the firmware update thatt battery life has gotten worse, but i don't mind because the device is more stable. if you do watch a 2hr movie, then i doubt the battery will last a full day, unless you don't do much else with the phone. if you turn off widgets then you will save battery.

n97 fan, 29 Nov 2009Is N97 lens scratches common between users or not? and in N... morethe scratched lens was a problem for early handsets but nokia have rectified this problem with newer phones. if you have this problem, apparently you can take it to nokia care point and get it fixed for free as it is an acknowledged problem.

The mp on a camera has nothing to do with quality of the pictures it takes, the higher the mp means the bigger the print in which you can blow up. The sensor on cameras is what makes quality photos. Iphone camera photos always come out grainy regardless of the lighting. You have to get an app to take better pictures also three generations and still no flash?? C'mon. The N97 might not compare with the touchscreen but this is where it kicks the Iphones ass Hands DOwn.

please helllppp mee, How long can you watch a movie with Nokia N97, how long does the battery last when playing a movie without doing any other stuff.
and what about playing of music.
is it 2hour or more, i really need to know.
coz my battery doesn't last long.

hi stephanie,,,, i advised youto check nokia.comand look to the most near nokia shop.... so you guarntee that is original NOKIA not a fake one,,, one more thing that when you start the mbile "after load the sim card" the mobile will ask to send SMS to myNokia... this also will help... lastly go to official agency of nokia company or find "nokia care" shop to help you..... wish you the best .....

how can i tell if an n97 is a real nokia n97 and not a clone? what codes can i use to verify the software version is genuine? what should the genuine nokia n97 say or do in its codes that a clone wont? PLEASE HELP N97 experts.

I have N97 for 5 weeks now... Firmware 2.0 is better but the phone is still BAD: poor sound, bad reception, it freezes all the time, sms messages are coming back 9-11 days after being deleted, can't open sms after deleting one before... Well, just Google "N97 problems" and see what I mean.
Not to forget really poor OVI store, PC software is bad, widgets are "loading content" most of the time... Samsung has DivX player on Omnia HD- isn't that the same OS?
This was my LAST Nokia! Never again! Shame on you Nokia!!!

You must go see a doctor or something coz you seem that you dunno what you're talking about! Comparing a 5mpx camera and a 2mpx camera is irrelevant coz they're not the same! 5mpx is better than 2mpx and I have the N97 and images are way better than the ones you'll get on the iPhone. Anyone who has seen the images of the n97 can tell you that!
As for the touchscreen sensitivity, that goes without saying. Capacitive is better than resistive and the iPhone is unbeaten at that so far.
Next time please do check your facts before telling the rest of us what you think is correct!

nokia n97 touch screen sensitivity is not better than iphone and secondly iphone camera result is 10 times better than n97 though n97 is 5mp and iphone 3g is only 2mp so in short dont go for n97
