Never compare, it is the gratest smartphone ever made.
If u want a very good music phone, good camera for pictures and video,3G calls applications, easy file tranfer, streaming video's such as real,window media video,flash.. playing all types of music formats such as AAC, mp3,wma,ogg..
Go for the iphone 3Gs if u need a faster internet access,,Fashonably slikier design better touch screen and listen to only itune formats... in every other thing the N97 will kill the Iphone 3gs
The 3Gs is basically a music phone for maturing kids it is not a multi media power house like the N97
what u get on the 3Gs is itune music and a fast internet.
Every otherthing the N97 can do better
3Gs lower picture cam, average video, no radio, limited video and audio codec support..cant run 3rd party software, cant transfer files wirelessly...
the only thing compareable to the N97 is that it 2 micro sec faster than the N97 in terms of speed, and the touch screen runs a little smoother...

The N97 doesn't have the business functionality of the iPhone.
It is taking months for the Office editing and Skype software to be developed.
Why is it so hard?
Symbian as a platform is past it, it's dying, it's a cobbled together mess which is being asked to do things it was never capable of, the result freezing up, slowing down, crashing, a multitude of problems.

Guys who r having hanging problems with N 97..plz do this step and see the diffs...go to apps then keylock app and disable it dne ...no hanging and fast fone...good luck...

Does anyone know if there is a feature on the N97 that causes the phone to switch off when not used for a certain amount of time? It's fine during the day but overnight I find that the phone has turned itself off and I have to switch it on again every morning.

There is nothing wrong with a n97. I had one for a week going from my beloved N958GB. I reurned the n97 and purchased the iphone 3gs. For internet browsing,all kinds of apps and being user friendly this is the best phone. For camera functions the N97 is far superior.

Please do ur research before posting kindergarden educ comments. In smartpones Symbian dominates and there marketshare is way ahead than any others. Nokia owns most of Symbian. Period.
Further to your comment about decades biulding up the MAC, then its true they havnt got far with Windows being Present in over 90% of world PCs, MACs has completely lost the battle in the OS area in terms of sales and share.
