GOT THE PHONE YESTERDAY AND IT'S FREEZING ALREADY.
Please let's not fool ourselves Nokia needs to power-up they're faults before releasing the phones into the market. This feels like such a waste of money even the 5800xm was far better despite it's faults.
I lOVE NOKIA but hey im not content with this one.

My dad has the 3gs and ive played around with it. I figured i would check it out before i update my contract this month. At the way people on the iphone forum talk about this phone, i had high expectations of it. It has a fast processor and really sensitive screen but thats about it. Why have so much of ram when you cant do multitasking with more than 3 programs? All that power is wasted. The graphics processor on the phone is good but ive got many of the games from the app store and they arent that revolutional. If you look at it this way, you pay so much for the device, you should expect something much better from the gaming side of things. Id rather stick to the handhelds and consoles for games. As for the sound and music part of it, i have an ipod touch so i dont see that as lifechanging as well. Every modern phone has a good mp3 player on it. The camera isnt really good for such an expensive phone. I had a chance so really explore the app store. I honestly really expected it to be better. Sure there are some good apps worth downloading, but most of the apps are rubbish. People say that this is a good business phone. If you look at htc, sony experia, nokia e90, n97, e series and samsung, they beat this phone hands down. If the phone was at an affordable price, we would be able to excuse its minor flaws, but i wouldnt spend so much cash on a device which could have been better.

Anonymous, 16 Jul 2009No Matter What they All say...I love you Nokia!!I agree 100% and when you look at the feedback from people who actually owns one (not a copied-and-pasted review), you pretty much get the same message from almost all of them.

                  Facing few problems about N97
                  Constant freeze and hanging
Accelerometer sensor for auto-rotate is not functioning well.
The N97's touch user interface isn't well integrated and can be inconsistent and confusing, especially compared with the competition. We would have preferred a capacitive touch screen instead of resistive.
Resistive touch screens are hard to type
Space bar off to the right, symbol shift key to the far right, not enough tactile feedback when typing
No Xenon, very weak RAM and processor, Effective screen area is less, cheap speakers and volume, Battery drains in a day. No html support for nokia email apps (NMS)
Symbian OS appears clunky and often amateurish
                  smaller screen surface area
No Wi-Fi thereby unable to use UMA access in low-signal zones
Touch screen does not work for web browsing at all with the response to magnification and scrolling being poor.
Could be a bit thinner, poor battery life, not too good
Touch experience isn't quite there yet with some inconsistencies, expensive, sometimes runs out of memory if you don't keep track of and manage running programs. Streaming YouTube video still takes a long time to launch and seems to tax the phone's processor (my complaint with most recent Nokia N97).

Anonymous, 16 Jul 2009really how does iphone win when it cant beat phones spec wi... moreThe iPhone wins because it has component video out, which a 1 month old Nokia doesn't have let alone a ten year old one.

Phones didn't even have cameras or colour screens ten years ago so what are you on about, WAP was 14.4k and you had to dial into a number and pay by the minute, it wasn't 7.2Mbps like the iPhone 3GS or even 3.6Mbps like the slower iPhone 3G or N97.

how come u still sleeping, N97 is the worst phone compares to iphone or others like Samsung, LG, HTC & BlackBerry etc.

Never compare, it is the gratest smartphone ever made.

If u want a very good music phone, good camera for pictures and video,3G calls applications, easy file tranfer, streaming video's such as real, window media video,flash.. playing all types of music formats such as AAC, mp3,wma,ogg..

Go for the iphone 3Gs if u need a faster internet access,,Fashonably slikier design better touch screen and listen to only itune formats... in every other thing the N97 will kill the Iphone 3gs

The 3Gs is basically a music phone for maturing kids it is not a multi media power house like the N97
what u get on the 3Gs is itune music and a fast internet.

Every otherthing the N97 can do better

3Gs lower picture cam, average video, no radio, limited video and audio codec support..cant run 3rd party software, cant transfer files wirelessly...

the only thing compareable to the N97 is that it 2 micro sec faster than the N97 in terms of speed, and the touch screen runs a little smoother...

U cant compare the 2 phones,,, Iphone 3Gs is for growing kids that needs access to music and internet u cant even listen to your BBC radio on it which may save u your life saving for information,,,, but if u r 24 years and above u must get the N97.... Get the Iphone for ur kids and N97 for ur self.

N97 can do anything an iphone can do if not better!

The coming software updates will soon correct the little bugs left of the N97
