To anonymous: It is possible that you have a malfunctioning unit, phones are not supposed to be heating up or using their power source that rapidly.. Also you might check for any applications that are running... I once installed a theme on a microdrive of n91, and the performance dropped and the battery life lowered by twice, make sure nothing is using up the performance when not necessary

got it last friday 10th july after long wait, keeps freezing, couldnt even answer calls today, its going back and i am going back to my n95 something that works

Hi all,
I have had my N97 for 2 a week now and the following are the main problems I am facing with it not to forget that its really an amazing device. Please reply and let me know if you are facing the same problems and if you found solutions :
1) it takes very very long to fully charge and sometimes does not stop charging
2) Battery is not lasting a full day
3) with the Keylock off, the screen light does not come on when I touch the screen and I always have to press one of the buttons to get it to light up
4) with keylock on when I slide the button to unlock most of the time the light does not come on and am forced to lock and unlock again to get it to light up

Touchscreen Eseries and 12mp camera :D and symbian 2 but i don't like how the de demo looks they should stick to the nokia future concept OS looks much better and keeps the s60 looks still

N97 has a super cool form factor!!! I wish nokia applies the same form factor to other phones in the future!! It would be the successor to n97!
I have a strong feeling that it successor won't be announced at nokia world 2009 but will be announced at world mobile congree feb 2010!!:)

unfortunately. This is due to Pressure from competitors also building in
El-Cheapo-Countries.
R&D is still mainly in Finland.

i bought this phone on the very 1st day of its lauch in Italy i.e. on 9th of July.I am totally dissapointed with its performance.From the very next day it started hanging quite often and at that point of time u cant switch off it,u have to open the back cover open the battery and then only it restarts.In my opinion N96,N95 8GB is much much better phone than this one.

i got the N97 4 day ago, battery seem not lasting even on normal usage only on for 5hrs, the battery signal bar already left 3bar and the phone seem to be easily heat up on the lower part of the phone, can anyone N97 owner advise if their phone hav the same problem as mine.

Saw the Nokia N97, felt it, played with it for 5 minutes and then I gave it back to get an Iphone 3gs. Nokia needs to make better phones to compete with Apple and Sony Ericsson. The only good phones which has made a real impact on the market are the Nokia N95 8GB and the E71. Apart from that the N series seems to be going from bad to worse. I say make better models or scrap the idea and sack the person who designed it.
