K - UNiT, 16 Jan 2015Why is that ?Because Symbian OS (The Operative System the phone runs on) was abandon slowly by every cell phone maker, Nokia being the last one to do so (Nokia 808 Pureview -Year 2012- was the last Symbian phone released to the market).
Afterwards, the logical thing happened. Software designers, App makers and the like, started to leave behind Symbian also. So they could focus on designing Android, iOS, and Windows Phone apps -Windows Phone is the one Nokia Lumia Series uses-.
So, since august 2014, the Skype client for Symbian won't even let you sign in. They shut it down completely.
You still can use WhatsApp, as an alternative messaging app. Luckily it is up and running for your N97 Symbian phone for the time being.

hi guys,i have a question for answer.i've Nokia n-97.i just make a short down load,after that it upgraded its self then suddenly turned off.now the problem is that when i try to on it,it starts with Nokia monogram,then it turned off also not charging.it is software problem or hard ware problem? make a not on "vander_waals@yahoo.com"

bought it on internet....i only used it for about 6 months then there were problems with the battery n afterwards it completely stop charging....tried to repair but in vain....weak internal memory...had to delete stuffs every time i had to upgrade whats app!!!!!
