DOes anyone know if/when this will be released in the UK on O2?
I heard that Nokia/O2 were having a disagreement over the Skype software on the phone meaning it wont be released on contract but only on PAYG - is this true?

Just a small note to my post below: if making touch-screens can be called copying, then making 32GB internal memories is the same thing. In reality, both things shouldn't even be considered as that, as touch-screen wasn't invented by Apple, and 32GB memory wasn't either invented by Nokia. So please, never mention this again...

@Apple fanboys, be a bit more realistic!
Actually, do you know how much it sucks for Apple employees to work there? They are even threated worse than Apple customers, and yes, that means that they are threated REALLY bad. They work in seperate "cells", and aren't even allowed to know what they are working on, in order to prevent leaks about their "secret products". In many cases the Apple employees find out the products later than the consumers, and you have to agree about that Apple always is quiet and doesn't tell anything for its consumers, which is a very bad consumer threatment. If I'd be an Apple fan, then I'd be pissed of as hell. Seriously, think about all those unlucky Iphone 3G purchasers this month, if they only could wait 1 month more... or if they only knew... Now they did just buy an overpriced product that will have ceased product, hmm... very happy consumers indeed??? I certainly wouldn't think so, and I even doubt Apple fanboys would be happy about it.
Just look how Apple is copying Nokia's idea of having 32GB of internal memory...

@Samsung people, please be objective.
N97 will release before Omnia HD in the most parts in the world, and will be cheaper as well. And most importantly, it will be supported, unlike Samsung's decision to move on with their following phones and skip the Omnia HD for now. Heck, did they even do some marketing for the phone? Honestly, they don't even care about it.
Samsung will never be forgiven in countries like Sweden for late and overpriced releases. Almost all Sammy products get released about 3-4 months later here, at a 15-20 % higher price, too. It's no wonder why Sammy is so unpopular here.
Luckily, I'm no Samsung fan, as I'd really be pissed of then, since I live in Sweden. It's a shame that Sammy only cares about a certain few markets in the world. They should do some reaseaches first instead, as all their phones seem to be pushed to the market without any thoughts. Luckily N97 won't have a price increase in Sweden compared to the Euro price, unlike Sammy's crappy products.

I have a Sumsung INNOV8 for about 8months but have only used it for about 3 months because its in and out of repair. i think the cam is nice and the sound is (apart from the 1sec delay when recording videos and playing them back... why samsung?) the main issue is that its an n95 rip off as you say. no prob with my n95. latest firmware practically makes it n96 anyway. n97 has everything to offer. and ive seen it being used - its not slow, its nowhere like the 5800 OS, so definately my next phone!

Samsungs are Rubbish. I had the INNOV8 and it was a carbon copy of my N95, except the sound quality when video recording was no where near where it should be. I just received my shiny new Samsung 8910 HD and its great that you can record HD videos... but the sound quality is even worse than the first generation of video recording mobiles!! needless to say i'll be sending the HD back and reverting to the faithful Nseries... N for never lets you down! can't wait for the N97.

I think nokia need to re-think what they are doing with this phone and how they can make the next one better because its just a waste of time. Its been a big wait for this phone and now people are seeing much better phones that give a lot more. Cmon lets face it, this phone isn't all that compared to the new LG Arena and Crystal or the new Samsung Omnia HD. Nokia are totally falling down hill which is quite sad. It about time they pull their finger out and start making phone there fans wnat to see.
