I am not sure, i have a N95 8GB and moving to N97...Only if Nokia fix the sw for Mac, because right now in Mac, is really hard to connect the phone, not like in windows, but NO WAY I am going back to windows...if they fix it, I will get one of this beautiful toys

Anonymous, 16 May 2009N86 is the successor to the N96, kind of.n86 is the successor to n82 coz both were made keeping camera in mind.
N96 may be the succesor to n95 but n97 is not. N95 was meant for music and gaming with the dual slider, dedicated hardware keys and graphics accellerator.
N96 was a flagship for fp2.
N97 is completely different and is meant for internet/business with the qwerty.

Idou is more like a business phone, succesor to the X1, while N97 is more like a multimedia phone, succesor to the N95.

It does look rather lovely, and the specs are amazing, but I do wonder if it will be as good as it says. I love it in white, but my dad is buying for himself in black. The sliding action, touch screen and QWERTY keyboard will be amazing (im guessing)and it will be easy to use with a beautiful screen. I would say that it will be in competition with the Sony Ericson Idou, Sony Ericssons first symbian powered smartphone, but they will appeal to slightly different markets, N97, for business users needing to edit documents and emails, and the idou for the youth who like to take pictures and listen to music. (subsequently, I shall be getting the Idou).

I concern about the web browsing speed!!!!! The default browser should be upgrqded to run rapidly As mobile safari
Sad that there is still no fifth versin of ozone, mobile opera and skyfire and mobile firefox!!!!

vodaphone is releasing this phone early june in UK and up to now, I couldn't see any pre order page on Nokia Philippines. so slow Nokia.ph, so i can order mine!!

All the N97 fanatics,please be aware there are loads of fake /copies of the N97 about from the Chinese Traders,so please check out thoughrally the phone you purchase on some websites,as you do not want to end up wasteing alot of money on a mobile that does not function same as the Original N97

There's still a slim chance that N97 will have a dual-core CPU... Even if it won't have it, it'll still be the best Internet-browsing device that can be used as a phone.
N97 = mobile computer
Omnia HD = smartphone
X1 = smartphone
G1 = smartphone
TG01 = lacks multimedia features, yet unknown
Iphone = lacks multimedia features, smartphone
Idou = smartphone
Touch HD = smartphone
The N97 is the only replacement of a laptop!!!

N97 costs 5999 SEK in Sweden, while the gimped Iphone 8GB (only 8GB memory, no flash cards or anything!!!) costs 7999 SEK... As for the Iphone 16GB, you can guess it yourself...
BTW, those prices may vary in different stores. Those ones above are from the same store.
