another pointer i want to make is that nokia might be trying to catch other companies out ie sandbagging...always wait till the official announcement is made from nokia itself..i hope single ARM is true then i can dream of n-gage games on my 5800 :)

Also many people jump on the bandwagon that faster CPU = faster OS.its partially true. just like higher megapixel count = better quality.
however, it also boils down to how good this OS has been optimised by nokia.
and don't forget faster cpu results in draining of battery faster so the whole point of having minimum grade cpu is to allow u to carry out the multimedia features for which this phone is built for!!
and as mentioned before im happy now that i can also have n-gage games for my 5800 blessing in disguise

with the announcement of CPU of this device many ppl are slating nokia's choice although for people like me who own a 5800 this is a blessing in disguise as this means our 5800 will support n-gage games too so its good news N97 has single ARM CPU with 128mb ram and no H/W graphics :) :)

I think N97 will win..,... Sure there is cheaper phones wich can do all the things like e.mail and that, but its the feeling that you have in your hand, to own an N97 that is mighty to be a phone....

after all these things i have read about the cpu,does it mean this phone is running slowly???? or it may hang or not run some programs??????? coz i only use the phone for calling, taking some pictures, hearing music (the most thing i use) and sometimes checking my emails with it...... i know u would think im crazy for paying almost 600euro for N97 which i can do all these on a cheaper phone, but i really love this phone and its price is not an obstacle, i just wanted to ask is it a big deal???? coz i dont put a lot of pressure on the phone or use is as an animal !! :p:p so after all of these things, will i have a problem becoz of the cpu speed???? i appreciate ur replies :):)

I dont get it, why the *** are you crying about the phone, No its not good and all that crap, dont buy it, easy as that it is.Shut up and let us others enjoy the PHONE, as it still is, not a computer...
I cant wait untill they release it, you go Nokia.

I can´t wait until I've got my own N97 in my hand!! For the first time ever: I'm in love with a mobile... (Got 5800 now and I really miss a lot of things in that mobile - all I ever wants comes with N97)

Anonymous, 28 Apr 2009...and let's see how optimized S60 v5 runs on the 800MHz CP... moreits obvious that this phone will still sell, at least its faster than 5800, but if you'll try to look at the speed of 5800, its still fast even if its 340mHz so the speed of cpu wont really matter in Symbian S60v5, having an 800mHz in Omnia is a waste of specs and money because people are going to pay for it without the need.
and obviously the people who are going to buy this phone are those who wants to integrate business QWERTY, entertainment specs and touch so it really doesn't affect its stand as to Nokia wants this to be positioned in the market.
my qualms though is the price of the phone, its 599 Euro for God's sake, how am I going to afford this when the world is in recession. i really thought this would cost below 500 Euro as reported early but it cost more than that so i'm rooting for N86 8MP instead. call it shattered dream c",

OMG, look at all those apple loyalists react on this.......yeah coz your phone offers better hardware specs for that price range.......lol
What else except faster cpu/ram, any hardware to make use of it???
At 369mhz 5800 is fast and handles multitasking and web flawlessly. 434 is still a good number if not awesome.
