Apple does not get involved in selling cheap phones in India, China, Africa and so on, but in the smartphone market where they surely beat first Blackberry, than Nokia which is only a distant third.

any !d!ot can assemble hardware, you go to China and farm it out to any factory,
the problem is the software, the user interface, that takes decades to develope unless you try to sell junk and fail like Nokia is doing in the smartphone market, look at Blackberry they were and still are successful because of good software and platform.
Nobody is disputing Nokia success in selling little phones for common little people around the world, although their market share is shrinking .
Apple is changing the world with a whole new concept of user interface
and you do not understand that.
You do not get a billion downloads in 10 months unless you offer something extraordinary :

If It is so successful why to abandon something so good , is it maybe because it is a desperate attempt to go Linux after Apple has DESTROYED Symbian ?
This is technology, Symbian is good for the birds TODAY.

When I was using Nokia phones in prehistoric times I never had to change battery, it is a useless feature even in Nokias with short battery life, power is available everywhere for recharging unless you live in the desert and do not have solar panels.

any !d!ot can buy megapixels and gigabites but what matters is the user interface and the software that connects your brain ( if you have one ) with your hardware.
Apple IS VERY successful with the Iphone because of the great user interface and that is why they RULE in the smartphone market, Nokia is in the me too business adding megapixels and gigabites to a piece of plastic and metal that is not even on the market as yet.
Very little success in the smartphone market share regardless of their multi decade experience in the phone business.
Rimm Blackberry is certainly doing a lot better after Apple and BEFORE Nokia.

Omnia HD will inherit the same fate.

it does ... moreI can assure you that the battery power of n97 consume much less than your crap iphone, because it uses resistive screen, if the battery dies one day, Nokians just need to replace it with new one in a shop nearby:)
your iphone needs an expert to do it for you, i doubt that your iphone will look more ugly than before because they force open your iphone.
in the end N97 has the best design, best Mature OS(Saturated), best hardware spec(dont tell me Samsung HD has better hardware spec, I just dont like samsung and its design)
Nokia has confirmed to bring out 3 more touch screen phone this fall, they certainly annouce that in 2-3 september this year nokia world

According to The Wall Street Journal's sources, Apple is working on a portable device that is "smaller than its current laptop computers but bigger than the iPhone or iPod Touch."
No other details were provided but there have been ongoing rumors that Apple has been working on either a tablet or netbook device. In fact, some reports even combine the two concepts into a single touchscreen device. Netbooks traditionally resemble smaller laptop computers and typically include a keyboard. Apple's ongoing research into multi-touch, however, has generated speculation that Apple may incorporate more advanced gesturing into a future device.
When is multi-touch coming to crappy Nokia ?
And Apple great software ?
Nokia N97 is only going to be a piece of useless plastic and metal without proper user interface and that takes 20 years to implement from scratch.

a time ago i wanted a new phone... moreThe N97 is a better choice, the Omnia hd crap is just gimmicky thats why samsung are trying desperately to keep the "hd" tag. You won't really need those hd features. That was the case with the samsung innov, it was released 3months ago, but it seems it was released 5yrs ago, everyone has forgotten about the crap like it never existed, thats gonna be the case with the Omnia hd, sales for the innov were very very poor, infact the innov is a total flop regardless of the 8mp cam, divx etc... all these were just gimmicks. After apple Samsung is the top gimmick company.
As for core functionality, the Nokia n97 beats all phones hands down, with its huge array of services ranging from Ovi to skype, nokia maps, Ngage and so on. Plus Nokia has a huge developer base, with the introduction of the OVI app store, apps for the N97 are gonna be unlimited. One major disadvantage for the Omnia is; despite the fact that the core of the omnia's OS is based on symbian 5th edition, same as the Nokia N97, Nokia games, themes, widgets and apps wont work for the omnia hd because it is based on a different architecture. So samsung omnia users won't benefit from the ovi app store, they are stuck with java apps only.
At the end the Nokia N97 is the only device out there that you'll never ever regret. Thanks

a time ago i wanted a new phone , i was looking and i came on the omnia , i though '' o nice thing '' but then i saw the x1 from sony. An omnia with a key bord .. WOOHOO i want ! but i then i heard it was a crappy phone... so i didint both it, then the 5800 came , nice i like nokia and it looks great , lets see if nokia brings the same with a Qwerty kebord , AND YES THEY DID ! woohooo :D cant wait till i have that thing :D... or should i go for the omnia HD ?
