Anonymous, 24 Mar 2009I guess the extra camera quality doesn't matter much to peo... moreYou probably mean that it sold more in the US right? Take in mind that people in the US bought the phone cus either:
    1) They never heard of any other phone from Nokia or any other phone competitor outside of the US.
    2) They can't afford to import a phone
    3) They bought the phone because of the ads/commercials and therefore think that the iphone is the only cell phone that exists???
Tell me something, do you think that the iphone sales were better in the US or in Europe/Asia?

i believe N97 will do the same with omnia HD nor idou with Nokia edging more on advertising and promotion and how they package their products.

the omnia hd will run circles around the n97. the the innov8 was samsungs responce to the n96 and you see hwta happened with that. samsung is number one and will continue to be aslong as nokia is still slacking.

I am very excited for the release of this phone. Im most excited about the 35 GB (or 29,99GB), it seems to be very sleek and looks very neat. The specs sound really good too. The price is very high but im sure on contract it wont be as bad.

one finger multittouch for 5800/n97 very simple to implement zoom/rotate control by doubletapping you set a control point and when you drag the control takes efect need just one hand to controll (multitouch needs two hands to control - you have to hold the device with other hand

A great competitor observes what the adversary is doing and modifies strategy in order to win. One is even willing to imbibe elements of the opponent in order to attain victory.
Nokia must have seen the effect of Samsung's Omnia HD and SE Idou on the top-of-the-range crowd. Nokia have no choice but to improve the spec. The N97 is a high-end device and so there must be no slacking. My advice is for Nokia to implement an 8MP camera with Xenon flash and an option for HD recording. This is obviously going to be a year of high spec devices. Nokia will be wasting their time releasing the N97 with its current spec. They need to improve it. They should not be arrogant just because they have the largest market share.
This device is not even due till June so they have time to get to work!
