Or replacing a phone network's custom firmware.

ppl kept complainin abt their nokias but my nokias are workin fine, i've got 6260, e70 n n95 8gb n i dont face any problems with them at all. my 1st phone waz sony t610 n it waz good but nokia is way better.

These Nokia guys are strange, they seem to think you can only buy one brand of phone or use one at a time.
I have two numbers, one in an iPhone and. one in an N82.
I've been using mobiles for fifteen years and have owned many different phone's.

n97 is quite cheap compare 2 my n95 8gb. at that time, i bought it 4 £500 lol

Linux has hardly any hardware support for phone's (e.g. 3G), there have been some attempts but they don't get far.
Motorola released a few Linux based phone's such as the V8 but not the V9 (see above 3G support).
