I never understand, why people are so emotional and biased in their comments. Just try to understand, that there are different designs for DIFFERENT people. Iphone is great for non tech users, that finally are able to use a smartphone thx to the great UI. Anyway pure touch phones are great to consume media, qwerty phones are better to PRODUCE content. So just THINK first, what you really expect from your phone and then decide. And please let other users do the same. Personally I love the N97, since it is a great combination for CONSUMING and PRODUCING content.

nokia haven't list down the CPU , RAM got how many in the nokia forum, they just ass the spec only some hardware they don't list like the old one
not even that, NOKIA & N-SERIES website NO N97 product pages!!!!

im in england and i got this fone before it has come out and it cost me 600 sori but im not allowed to say where from but i can say its brillaint, much better spec than the iphone

you obviously compare it on technical aspect.
iPhone is still ruling the smartphone zone.
iPhone has hundred thousands self dedicated application (100.000 to be exact http://www.tuaw.com/2008/12/05/taptaptap-creates-10-000-iphone-apps-mosaic/)
and counting.
Not to mention is based on OS X (far better than windows mobile or symbian)
True, iPhone is not EVERYTHING. Still have disabillities. But all those mostly because of the hardware aspect (iPhone is 2 years old hw technology)
and you forgot the experience iPhone offers.
Obviously you never use an iPhone before.

I think this phone is great. The only problem I have with it Is the slider. It looks rely cheep and easy to break. I hope they change it. It looks like a baby toy : ( If they change that slider this is my next phone for sure : )

randy, 05 Dec 2008this phone is nice but they just copied the iphone and the ... morethe n97 looks to be a great phone with a lot of options that the iphone just doesnt do. as an iphone owner, i have to say that i was sorely disappointed to see how slow add-ons and significant updates come for this phone. it seems like evry month or so a new firmware update comes but with no significant improvements. id rather have mms and running programs in the background out of the box than a pretty user interface any day. the only reason i haven't bought a new phone is because i was waiting for an absolutely great phone to come out. this is it. and for all those saying that this phone is a copy of the iphone think again. full touch screen phones were out way before iphone. and for those that say nokia should come up with their own phone design and that they are just copying off of htc, c'mon there is only so many phone designs out there. i guess yall want the qwerty to slide out of the top or pop out and type your messages for you. sometimes phone look similar just like anything else, cpu's cars hdtv's all look alike. its whats inside that counts

hi is n97 supports Pesonal area network.
And wat about bluetooth... when we receive a file it will be stored to mesg inbox. can we give a directory path 4 that.
What about 3rd party soft. any softwares releasd 4 s60 5th edtn.
