this is not enough, this fone is nearly the same with n79, only difference is touch screen and qwerty keyboard. but also doesnt have fm transmitter. this is king of touch screen fones, still not better than n79. another good thing is 32gb internal memory. and thats all. i will buy n79 and wait until n98.

This phone is the best phone ever no doubt,
Now when you said "By the time the N97 does appear in Q2 of 2009, all the other big guns like Samsung, Sony Ericsson, LG etc would have announced their latest and second generation of touchscreen phones at the World Mobile Congress in Barcelona in February".
Let me clarify their is a huge difference in announcing a phone and releasing the phone other companies would have announced their phones by the time the n97 is out!!
Symbian is not "out of date" as you stated!!
Symbian is the most advanced and stable OS for phones in the world it is a fully mature operating system and now offers the possibilities of touch interaction in the NEW 5th edition. Over 50% of all smart phones sold in the entire world run on SYMBIAN!
Nokia now fully owns Symbian which will make it even better because they are going make it an open source platform!
Google android is no WORTHY match to Symbian, android looks pathetic so childish and immature packed with bugs and glitches.

Does it have a Xenon flash. How come Nokia never upgrades itself to Xenon flash from the LED ones they currently use ???

Remmeber HTC Touch HD ,windows with 3.8" LCD and maney features...if u dont like HTC see Sony Ericssons X1 , i think better symbians nokia.

this mobile was very gud. i like it very much. specification is updated. but i need one more thing in nokia handsets. it has video stabalization. if nokia add this in his handsets then i tkink it very gud. i was ever use nokia handsets. i didnt like others. thank u very much

this is a great phone SAMAN but iphone still has its own reputation. it is still the best phone ive ever seen ..... as far as nokia is concerned.....bith the phones are the examples of their own...so n97 and iphone...both are best

What is the case made of??
Is it plastic or part metal/plastic???
I really don't care about all the other options ...I use NOKIA for the past 11 years....so I love it !
So this is my next target N97 !!!!!!!!!
