?.?, 21 Jun 2010what are the difference from n97 mini and n97 ?The biggest difference between the Nokia N97 mini and the N97 can be summarized in four things. The N97 mini is physically smaller. Its dimensions are 113 x 52.5 x 14.2 mm, whereas the N97 measures 117.2 x 55.3 x 15.9 mm. Although the resolutions of the touch screens are the same, the display on the N97 mini is smaller; 3.2 inches against 3.5 inches. The N97 mini has smaller (8GB) internal memory space for applications and data. The N97 has respectable amount, 32GB, of internal memory space. Both have memory card slots for extra storage space. The N97 has FM radio, which the mini doesn't have.

Sure, there are other differences, but all and all, they are pretty minimal. Except for one thing; price. The list price for the Nokia N97 mini is 450 euros, whereas the N97 is selling for a couple of hundred more.

Bought this phone recently, and found it to be overpriced and tacky. The touch screen is unpredictable, and you'll find yourself preferring the qwerty keyboard. This can be a bit awkward because it is not quick access.
The applications are best installed on the E:\ drive or other external memory, because the phone's internal memory (C:\) is extremely limited. The phone hangs often if you so much as install one extra application onto C:\

The GPS works quite nicely even though it is slow.
Music doesn't sound great on the inbuilt speakers, and there are not many equalizer options.
Video tends to freeze and the free movies on this phone have license issues and you'll not be able to use them after 2 months.
Managing contacts is a bit difficult and you'll find yourself struggling to synchronize across applications. The ovi suite doesn't help in a big way.
The camera pictures are grainy. The flash works quite nicely.
The internet browsing is difficult on this phone, and jumping to hyperlinks on a particular page is like playing a video game.
The help file is written for Nokia N97 and most of the help topics are not applicable to the mini. Ex: Music transmitter via FM.

Support: Please think carefully before buying a Nokia product. There is NO SUPPORT. It is Nokia's way or the highway. This is what I meant by saying be prepared. Buy the phone knowing that Nokia will not support in any way. They'll tell you what's under warranty/what's

Oh yes- its too cold here and i cannot take my gloves off. Thanx god its resistive touchscreen- i can use anything- my hair clips, toothpicks, matchsticks, gloves and it will work.
why would i limit myself to just finger touch by going for capacitive. It may be better but i need more touch options no matter if i hav to put some extra pressure on it (resistive) to perform. Its my way of thinking. Everybody have their own.

50, 21 Jun 2010in this the touch iz not gud People keep complaining about the drawbacks of resistive touchscreen but do they at least once ponder over why Nokia is still using them? If this is still in use then there must be some positives to it.
You can use this screen with a stylus or a gloved finger. All you capacitive touchsreen fans, give me one good way to input your own handwriting (Eg: Signature) into your phone. Next time before you make any biased comments first try to input your signature into your phone with your finger. if you succeed in doing so you are free to criticize the resistive technology and i'll keep quiet.
