The N95'esque' days have come & gone, & now Nokia needs to really step up their game. They have the designs down IMO, & are now starting to equip their mobiles with better hardware, but they need a solid SW platform should & also should really start to target the USA to sell some devices. Not everyone in the USA wants a freakin' iPhone. When I pull out my N97 Mini, I always get asked "What kind of phone is that"?...everyone thinks it looks stunning.
I have never in my 30 yrs. even seen a Nokia commercial on TV. Technology is changing very fast & I want Nokia to be on the cutting edge of that technology, not constantly playing catch-up. I mean...if Motorola can come back, I think Nokia should be able to as well.

You know, thats the deal with Nokia. They NONCHALANT announce their "new" phones around the world where the people are absolutely busy oogling other phones like htc/apple/motorola etc. They should invest more in creative ad campaigns like apple and provide revolutionary product like htc. AND MORE IMPORTANTLY provide continous phone support. I agree with people here saying nokia is the best BUT dont have enough support to back it up. Remeber MAEMO??? the one which they are now trying to KILL by introducing MeeGo? Keep on dooing this nokia and i think you wont be able to make it to 2011... Peace!

this phone only at 11The n5800xm device is older release, the n97mini is built with minimum bugs, that's why it does not need to be updated that often!
As for screen brightness, i guess it was meant to be like that with it's lite sensor controlled.
I hope nokia next update will overclock this phone to 533MHz because that is possible, and will speed up for quicker browsing.

Why no more update
we need threaded sms and more shortcut widget , if possible we want two home pages and dont forget to fix the screen brightness issues

They are using 720 mhz processor compared to a 434mhz on n97. Besides, the design on vivaz pro is superb and compact and thats technology man! N97 does look classy with he finishing but we got to give credit to SE for making this more compact and easy to pocket. I'm also a Nokia fan but please give credit where credit is due and not try to condemn others.

As far as the Divx players are concerned, they will only play some DivX/XviD encoded videos I have realized. Usually ones that aren't over a 640x360 res. I have found it much easier to just convert to MPEG-4 & use the built-in Real Player.

You can get a free software like 'divx player' to play avi format.

THe N97 Mini is much better than the Vivaz. Nokia implemnts S60v5 much better than SE, & the N97 Mini has much better materials used. I cannot stand all plastic mobiles, & the Vivaz seems like a toy after using the N97 Mini.
The N97 Mini will not play .avi or Mp4 files. You have to first convert them. The fastest free converter I have found is http://www.ipod-video-converter.org/
If you want your battery to last a few days, turn the brightness down to the lowest setting. Install apps onto the Mass Storage or MicroSD card. Keep the C: drive as full as possible for best performance.
