One thing I've noticed that the kinetic scrolling on this phone is not good. if you look closely..once you flick it, the whole page doesn't run in unison. there's a column that's lagging. Nokia should abandon 5th Ed (touch) and go Maemo in full blast.

hi
i tried this phone and i assure you that its crap!!
as you hold it with the slider open, you get the feeling that is can easily break and the system used to hold the screen seems not to be secure. but i admit that the qwerty does feel nice to use

Anonymous, 19 Nov 2009Seriously, if the N97 has any consolation to what this is g... moreN97 was seriously flawed from the beginning ... screen not sensitive, camera lens gets scratched, battery cover screeches, qwerty key board not well designed, screen looks pale, materials and finsihing looked very cheap and plastic, the list goes on ...
that's why they had to redesign this no n97 mini. Now you've got a beauty and one with good performance. It beats Satio hands down except for the camera. Next upgrade might be a 8mp camera and a optical pad similar to e72.

Received mine from Orange on a contract as I was fed up of waiting for the Bold 2.
Was originally against touch phones, however the qwerty keyboard, fantastic reviews it keeps getting on numerous websites and the good deal from Orange convinced me to go for it.
The sliding qwerty keyboard is a delight to use - far easier than I expected and the screen is easy on the eye. The home screen is a nice touch and the menu button works the same as the iphone, no matter what you are doing just hit it and it takes you to the menu (it also keeps the original app running). The sound quality, both in making calls and listening to music is exceptional - fantastic quality.
On the negatives, I have to agree, there is the occasional lag between apps/functions however nothing extreme!
Internet browsing is great until you start having multiple web pages - then it starts to slow and becomes fiddly switching between different screens! I think that is also down to lack of experience with the phone and the more I use it the better I will get.
Oh the battery is POOR - just ordered a car charger - was quite shocked how poor it is but it does have a small battery and a large screen!
Regarding mal-functions others have reported - I have only had one instance where the phone slowed up, however it seemed to rectify itself and I did not need to turn it off.
Ovi computer software is simple and really easy to use compared to others. Transferred my numbers and backed everything very quickly!
Overall it feels good to hold and use. Email works very well, apps available seem to be increasing everyday and it has all the functions you could need with a better camera than most smart phones.
If you want a phone that is full Qwerty and has push/pull email and not bothered about 1000's apps - this is great and I would definitely recommend it!

wtf dude, i just installed a few apps, the thing went on crazy? first it getting slow and later on its hang, i have to HARD RESET it and have to setting it back, damn.. My last nokia was like 9 years ago and so i thought why not changing back to nokia, i thought after all this years, nokia would improve more on their symbians, but i was very wrong and i'm very 2000x disappointed, SE got problem only with their buttons & sometimes the ugly design but definitely not like this problem. i'm thinking changing back to SE, Satio maybe. can u imagine how disappointed i am? i'm sorry if i offended any hard core nokia's or SE's, just sharing with all. thx..
