provide a step by s... moreWARNING. ALL DATA AND CONTENT INCLUDING MUSIC FILES IN THE DEVICE MEMORY WILL BE REMOVED DURING THE UPDATE PROCESS. PLEASE BACKUP ALL YOUR PHONE DATA BEFORE PROCEED TO NEXT STEP.
1. The easiest way to update firmware v8.17 via pc is first u need to install nokia pc suite. This is the software download url; http://www.nokia.com.my/support/download-software/nokia-pc-suites
2. After finishing installation, make sure ur phone is connected to ur pc using the usb cable via Nokia Ovi Suite Usb Mode.
3. Then in the Nokia PC Suite application u need to click the green icon that say UPDATE PHONE SOFTWARE. Shortly after clicking the icon, it will install the Nokia Software Updater.
4. After finishing the nokia software updater installation, simply follow on the instruction that given. It will identifying ur phone and searching for the latest updates available for ur phone.
5. Thats all i've done in order to install the latest firmware v8.17 into my new nokia x2 phone. Good luck :)

Camera - night photo is very bad because when you take photo in night in photo you see some light.it is not 3g .low betry bacap

If u have some problems with battery... than it can be your foult... u need to charge some 10 hours at first time and second time 10h...expesily for NOKIA!! and that battery will be woking 100%precent..
or if u just saing that 950mah to small for u u can buy better battery ofcource.. :)
for me... i think that this x2 is good for this price.. i am not talking about touch screen phones.. bu about tiping phone class...
audio quality is very good.. just remember to use equalizer !! :D without it... it is shit.. :)
and 5mp camera .. is not bad realy...
because u dont understand that u are looking 5mpx photo from mobile phone!!!! put your photos to PC and then look!!!
sound quality from phone without earphones is not best.. because it is not musical center.. :D it is phone remember!
for me battery is just doing fine...

I am back again friends. I hate all phones in the world except one my Nokia N72 which i am using from 2006. I had a bad accident in jan. 2011. My hands and my shoulders got injured badly but to my shock my N72 in my pocket was perfectly working fine even i slipped of my bike. To my opinion that phone is best that is strongest and has longest life. N72 best phone in last 5 years.

X2 definitely isn't the best phone around. Apart from cedar its got a few more competitors. Here are a few of them :-
Sony has Elm (costs a bit higher but definitely much better camera and better features like wifi and 3g), C903 (Its price has dropped and it has a very good camera), then the aging Walkman phones which have far superior sonic experience.
LG has Viewty snap which has a better camera, GM 200 has a lot better sound quality despite its sluggish user interface and cookies KP 500 and GD 510 are within X2 's price range.
Samsung has a lot of phones (way too many to list out) to offer at a slightly higher price but with attractive features.
To make it even worse for X2, Nokia itself has a lot of good phones like 5130 which may not have good specs but it is a solid performer.
X2 is the the worst xpress music phone around perfomance wise. Only thing in its favour is its loud dual stereo speakers and a few people might find its 5 mp fixed focus camera attractive at its price range.

I am having Nokia X2. I am not fully satisfied for having it. Eventhough it is very cheap I suggest you not to buy it. I am dissatisfied with its camera and video clarity. It is very slow when we try to open a folder or a file of large size.
Sometimes it used to switch off automatically ( NOT BECAUSE OF VIRUS).
The worst of all is IT WILL TAKE A LONG LONG TIME TO FULLY RECHARGE THE BATTERY.
Eventhough it has a loud sound, the clarity of it is bad.

Update its software.
It makes things better.
No real advantage but many bugs in the os can be removed.
Makes it below average from worst.
Else buy a different charger. I am not sure whether it brings down battery life and I havent tried it. Just heard it from here

Just around 1 hour and almost 40% of the charge is used.
Also while watching videos with headset and playing music through loudspeaker also charge drains like rainwater.
The same goes with java apps.
While in my cedar the last time I charged it day b4 yestrday 7.10pm started with 98% charge left.
acessed internet for almost 4 hours, everytime gsmarena and facebook is from cedar. Plus around 10minute call time , 395 messages, 1.50 hour of music through speaker and 3.5 hours of video (2.30 of it is lastnite movie -fast5) at the same time multitask download via opera mini j.lo ft pitbull- on the floor mp3 (12mb file took 1.15hour) plus wake alarm for two mornings.
And as i'm typing now the phone got 42% charge left. Isn't it astonishing?
