Anonymous, 02 Aug 2011is nokia x3 02 a good mobile for 13 year old boyI'd say it's okay but for about the same price for example Nokia C5-00 has some more applications available, because of its OS (Symbian) (but doesn't do wlan, so if you don't have a good data-plan it's not as cheap or handy to use, and not as good a camera). It's a trade-off. This phone, with wlan and chat applications and an okay camera can be a handy phone.
Maybe one of the C-series Nokias with touch-screen and a full keyboard, or an android phone are also alternatives. Good luck.

x3-02 only barely does skype (no official app, and definitely no skype video chat) to my knowledge. So probably n96 is a better bet.

Horrible phone for the price... Low battery life.. charges slowly, no multi tasking, cant set brightness, cannot re sort icons in order i want ( all these are available in the cheaper and better c5 that i have used earlier. Worse part is that Phone book gets full and cant add any new numbers after few hundred entries. Cheaper phones like the 3011 classic and most other nokia phones have unlimited phonebook memory. This is not even a retrogade but stupid design step by Nokia. No Nokia Maps and has just 50 mb memory so cannot download anything meaningful. Gets Hot too soon... Cant blame all on Global Warming ;))).. almost afraid the battery may explode with the heat!! Nokia was this a a practice design as gift to oblige some favorite son-in-law to design or something like that... I have been a regular and loyal Nokia fan for years --avoiding to move to Blackberry or samsung. but this piece of designing makes me revolt.!... ONe reason was the standardised icons and user friendliness that did not make me go over a learning curve everytime i got a new nokia. NOw the 0 and star keys are elsewhere and the 4 arrow pad to reach calender and message are missing. OK now that i have vent out my disappointment. The only reason someone would like it is the good responsive and the games are good. sound quality is reasonable. image quality of the fixed lens and 5mp camera is quite good for a cam phone but missing flash means only daylight images!

To check the number of bytes used just follow this sequence: MENU>Contacts>Log>Data Counter. :)
