Nokia is all about plastic and plastic. They feel so cheap and like toy compared to Iphones and HTC Legends. When do you start to wake up Nokia? You are long after the others when it comes to high-end phones.

i really like all of its feature, not really fast but enough for its range..whether C,X,N or E series 6 or above deserve something different rather than 5 or below..
too bad this phone potential's limited by S60...

hope nokia will using S^3 on this phone and other phone too like C6... since S^3 seems designed for touchscreen rather than S60 even S60 has various apps now..

Be rational, why won't nokia put a faster processor in this phone if it would have made it better? I'm getting tired of saying this but i think i can say it one more time. Processor work rate does not reflect processor performance nor does it dictate the amount of data processed with time. In other words a 400mhz processor may process data faster than a 600mhz one. Its every manufacturers goal to put the 'slowest' (not in terms of speed but work rate) processor possible in their products because the faster the processor, the more power it consumes and the more heat it produces.
I don't know what on earth bore the idea that a faster processor would make symbian ^1 faster. Even a 2.2 ghz dual core processor won't make it any faster. It wasn't designed to be fast. The lag in opening submenus and all are all part of the os design. The delay in launching apps is as a result of the os structure not the processor. The difference in processors is only evident in few places like when zooming a photo or saving a video. Never the less, ratios of cost, performance, battery life and others have to be balanced. You can always trust the professionals at nokia to make the right choices.
This is not nokias flagship. This is two steps back from the flagship which was made about two years ago.
Lousy plastic? I don't think you've handled this phone. The build quality is excellent. Its the best amongst nokia touch screen phones (n8 excluded). Even better than the n97.

WTF ?! i like the phone verry verry much ,but it's lame ! workmanship is weak ,louzy plastic is used now'a'days in the making of the phone and not only .. up-grade to smarter phones dudes ,you have the whole gsmarena.com to search for one ;nokia is dead for me !

Is there any possiblities S^1 can upgrade to S^3 or at least have a half of S^3 feature like thread SMS, better UI like N8, or better speed and performance even cant have multitouch..

symbian os is much better than ios or android;u cant play quake 3 in any other os;u cant have free and full application in other os;and in the end nokia phones can survive a knockout fall

I agree with sexlant....Nokia should use MeeGo @ Maemo for N,E,C and X series....while the high end of no series should use Symbian^3 @ Symbian 4 and the mid range should use S60 5th edition

Hmmm, yes Nokia should limit their "Symbian S60 5th edition" for only the VERY CHEAP basic phones. This phone and the N97 deserved something more "interesting and different"...The performance is not that great, but not because of the processor...but because of the OS. Symbian Limits the phones FULL potential. It doesn't look and feel great in hand, its kind off thick compared to rivals. I got a 16gb, the 8gb would cost about 300$.

well guys....not ever humans in this world would like the funky UI and colorful,complicated OS.....like iPhone or Android...some people like simple,easy to use OS and UI....so....what to complain about....U don't like....how'bout an Iphone 4 or and Android device...if U guys don't like that OS Nokia???

i am a nokia officer.i know about all nokia mobiles in deap.x6 has better looks than n8 or n9.and its slim and sleek.hardware is superb.software will be surely improved with our future firmware updates.dont think ,just go for it.its at a steal price now.later it will undergo rise in price.it a best chance 4 you all to buy now.

Symbian v3 (non touch) is no doubt the best os in its category which ever way you look at it. (You may say its ugly but there are tens of thousands of free apps and themes to fix that.)
The only problem with ^1 was that it was not properly optimized for touch screen phones. It was nokias hurried response to the touch screen race. Basically, just the non touch os with a touch overlay hence its inconsistencies. Symbian ^3 is touch to the core and nokia never fails to deliver. Its gonna kick butts.
