Remove any previous version of Whatsapp(if installed)
Download Whatsapp plus from here, if you are facing verification issue then download version 5.77 from here.
If you have not allowed installation from other sources then enable it.
Install Whatsapp Plus.
After installing it, complete the procedure on WhatsApp Plus.
Now you have Whatspp in you Nokia X.
In this way you can install whatsapp on Nokia X and Nokia XL. You have to open Whatsapp Plus to access whatsapp chats and contacts.

xl not at all bad,
but battery backup is average. Except battery life, it is tremondous piece, if u consider to be games and net browsing freek then dont go for xl, its screen size 5inches so it consumption of battery is so fast. Better to go core r xperia mdual

I was looking for a Nokia with Android features instead of buying Samsung or buying a Nokia with Windows 8.1; texting is great, the address book is not editable if wanting to use the sim card instead of the address book on the phone (which you can set ring tones to); no address book for email; touch screen is extremely responsive, problem with drop calls, talk 2 min, drop call, talk 2 min, drop call, repeat, extremely frustrating; found this is a problem with Nokia's-GREAT! Just bought phone and upgraded from a Nokia flip with zero drop calls. Now I'm stuck. Pictures are crisp and clear. Can only use MP3 ring tones, which sucks because I uploaded my micro-sd card with lots of songs, and can't use them as ring tones. I miss the profile feature my flip had that smartphones don't have.

Dear Users of Nokia XL.
why you are so confused with this smart device.
If you really compare it in detail you won't be able to find big difference... and Price is also great.
I have installed many apps like whats app. MX player. MS office and PDF Reader and games and doing much more I haven't found a single problem. Check with Nokia Store and third party software choose if rating and feedback is good. No worries.

Hi friends, I am using Nokia XL, I am facing lot of issue with this, 1.restart problem.2.auto dialling and auto savings contacts to any number from recent dial list or contact list, its bigest issue that I am facing ,3.so many Applications is not working in this phone, so I would request you to please do buy this phone at all.never, never ,never buy.

guys its a pretty good phone but the biggest issue that i have faced is whenever you will install whatsapp it will show "it is not supported with your device" :/ although you can use whatsapp by the widget but there are many android apps which are not supported in this phone.

Since Microsoft is dropping Nokia X. And refocusing its efforts on WP. Then no one should buy these any more. I see so many people on here saying I need to install this app, and I am having problems installing this app. People could have saved themselves a ton of headaches if they would have went with an Android device that had access to the Google play store to begin with.

aaseesh, 17 Jul 2014Nice phone...evry thing works well .....got a vry good came... moreSee aaseesh sound problem facing every XL user vail playing video songs I had a trick for that first plug your headset and open music player on the equalizer 3d effect and boost put in 0% then put in rock mode and come back to home screen take out headset play the music its playing smoothly for videos go to mx player use s/w decoder its playing smoothly with a good sound quality.....

I bought Nokia xl on last week every thing is good but im facing 3 problems
1.Power/lock button is not working properly
2.Bluetooth and wifi is failing to connect after trying Bluetooth for 10 to 15 times its connecting
3.Speaker is so worst vail playing video songs
Is there any solution for this problems......
