This is a good enough price for this type of device. Rather, it will disappear from stores before it falls after all it is a device almost 2 years old in my country for several months now disappeared from many stores already and is harder to find.

I think the 7.2 has the Pixelworks i3 (Iris 3) chip integrated, as do the 6.2 and also the 8.3. It is an interesting solution, especially for LCD panels, but it seems HMD have not continued the partnership with Pixelworks and never used any of their higher end visual processors.

atichko, 10 May 2023I'm not in an oled bubble. Yes I prefer punchy colours... moreNot all mangos are good. Also there are plenty of varieties. The same is the case with LCDs and OLED displays. Apple products employ the best LCD displays. As you've said, it is true that LCD displays were good on older versions of Nokia devices. Today, quality gets compromised for more profits. In the same way there is a lot of difference even in OLED displays employed by different brands of mobiles. As you have asked for, even if the UI (User Interface) permits you to alter the default colour settings, it would be of no use if the displays are not good because, these displays aren't capable to render real colours. There is nothing wrong if you like OLED displays. Choose a mobile which employs it. If you like Nokia X30 and if you can afford it, you may go for it, since its display is good. But, it doesn't employ a 3.5mm audio jack. There are also plenty of other brands of mobiles which employ good OLED displays but, with their own Custom UIs. There is nothing wrong to provide honest negative remarks. If things are bad, you have to express it. Things can't be corrected, if there are no negative feedbacks.

atichko, 10 May 2023I'm not in an oled bubble. Yes I prefer punchy colours... moreOk, never heard of eye strain just because of LCD, maybe other problems? Dry eyes can cause sensitivity to light. Anyway, all i can say is that (am)oled makes my eyes to want to look at something else after a few minutes, and i notice a difference between looking at the x20 LCD, and my x30 oled. The x20 does not cause me blured vision. So sometimes i feel sad that the x30, otherwise cool device, does not have LCD with pure black on top. But well...
Of course, nothing negative on my side ider, i also learn when talking with people and hear their preferences and opinions. Of course i am kind of rought at the edges with trolls and bashers, but i did not find your comment to be like that, so sorry if i seamed a bit out...

Carol, 06 May 2023He talks about eye strain... health issues caused by oleds,... moreI'm not in an oled bubble. Yes I prefer punchy colours and yes, some LCD's also offer very punchy colours (except Nokia ones who tend to be washed out and blueish). The most bothering thing for me is the back lighting in dark area's where you have that typical glare that is very noticeable (at least to me) and causes eye strain (again to me). I don't have that with Oled screens (unless the rare ones that do use a kind of back lighting giving the same issues). I do agree that the pure black screens of the older gen of Nokia's where very good but not the current line-up, regardless of the price. The are "acceptable" at best (but that's my opinion including some other reviewers). If Android One would offer the possibility to alter the colour settings (and not only a warm or cold slider) then it might be a bit better. Again, it's my taste and thus not me trying to impose my preferences. I accept all remarks and other opinions. Sometimes this kind of feedback changes my view on things so nothing is negative.

If I really Love and Respect my mother, I should do the same with all mothers of our world, without which I am inhuman. My country is like my mother and other countries are mothers to different people. I Love and Respect every country in this world. We have just rented our planet to lead our life for a short span of time. Everyone is a dependent in some way or other. Businesses depend on public to make money and people depend on businesses for goods and services. You can't be happy with no people around you. It is our ego, greed and insatiable desires that makes our lives and other lives miserable. If we can befriend everyone in this world, our world can dethrone the real Heaven.

It is based on a Linux kernel and runs AOSP (Android Open Source Project). Well. Let's not beat it further. One thing for sure. Everything in our Universe is Uncertain. Everyone know this. Businesses and people always do things to the best of their abilities and knowledge. Whatever be the case our world would adapt. Who knows the future? Do you?

There is only one big non-Chinese phone maker left - Samsung. Eventually Samsung sales will drop as well because they won't be able to compete with world's number one economy. Which means Chinese phone makers will have monopoly in the market. So what is the point for them in using Android and paying money to Google? They will ditch Android in an instant with a little push from the government, and employ some Chinese OS. Maybe that'll be Harmony OS or something completely new, time will tell. Qualcomm and the likes will be gone too. Everything will be Chinese. Look around your household, you will realize that virtually everything is made in China, and almost NOTHING is made in the USA. Real economy always beats virtual economy. I am not rooting for China here, but it is what it is.

MakeNokiaGreatAgain, 09 May 2023You are wrong on every possible level. It would be a waste ... moreWell, no problem. You've to believe in something and someone to lead your life. Just believe in what you believe. No one restricts you (or anyone) to build your own Custom OS for computers or mobiles. Why shouldn't you take the plunge to beat Americans by building a competitive OS for every platform. Also, you may even build your own hardware including processor. You may try to beat AMD, Intel and Qualcomm. All are American. Also no one forces you to buy Android, iOS or Windows PC. Why Symbian and other OS can't overtake Android and iOS? Not only Chinese but, every country look for opportunities. As you say, if Chinese have the ability to dethrone iOS and Android, they are most welcome. Hope you'll not fail to admit that you are in an opinion column of a device which employs American OS (Android). Everyone know that they have to exit our planet one day or other.

Oh well, let's not spoil Nokia XR21 discussion thread with offtopic.

Anonymous, 08 May 2023My dear friend, I think the brand names confuses everyone. ... moreYou are wrong on every possible level. It would be a waste of time to argue with you. You seem to be the type of person who believes in the myth that Americans went to the moon. Despite the fact that this myth has been debunked by virtually every thinking man, there is still a small minority that keeps believing. How come Microsoft could never make a phone before or after Nokia? How come Americans can't and will never ever fly to the moon if they could? You can't see the obvious. If you control the OS you control the countries, you control the data. They couldn't let there be OS they couldn't control, like Symbian and MeeGo or Sailfish. So that was the plan. Not to make Nokia and Windows Phone successful but eliminate other OS. They were happy when there was only Android, IOS, and Windows for PC left. What's in common? They are all American. Full control over the world. But they miscalculated one thing. The Chinese are coming.

MakeNokiaGreatAgain, 08 May 2023I will have to disagree. There is no such thing as a Micros... moreMy dear friend, I think the brand names confuses everyone. A brand name is just a tag attached to a product. Here the product is mobile. The thing we have to look into, is the manufacturer who manufactured the device. Though the brand name takes the credit indirectly, it is the manufacturer and their product development team should be credited directly. Nokia Lumia phones and Microsoft Lumia phones were both manufactured by Microsoft. Nokia Corp., has nothing to do with it. They only licensed out their brand name "Nokia" to Microsoft and now, HMD holds the license. If today's Nokia mobiles are good, HMD takes the credit and not Nokia Corp. Another point is the OS. Whether it is Microsoft Lumia mobile or Nokia Lumia mobile, both run Windows Mobile OS. Microsoft Inc., changed the brand name "Nokia" to "Microsoft" because of their personal preferences. Today's Microsoft's Surface Duo devices run Android OS. To conclude, it is the mobile (hardware) manufacturer and the OS manufacturer takes all the credit for a mobile's performance and not the brand name.

I don't know, what do you mean by politics. Why should a manufacturer engineer a product to fail purposely?

I mean who needs to pay bills and eat, when there are this cool jobs where you can work pro bono?! I would say that they should do it even better, something like Platinum buttons and a diamond souvenir included in the package, and since we're talking about packages, it should also come with an JBL extreme 4, Bose wireless over the ear headphones and of course let's not forget about the 10 years warranty and updates with free new phone everytime the battery dies.

The phone's already available on the official website. It's in stock.

All the Microsoft Lumia phones were still Nokia phones. Just because Microsoft slapped its own logo on them doesn't change the fact they were Nokia phones. How do I know this? I still own my Lumia 640 DS. It is a Nokia phone in quality and soul, despite having Microsoft badges. The phone is 8 years old but the original battery is as good as new. Can you imagine this? 8 year old battery is as good as new. I have accidentally dropped it many times from above 2 meters on concrete and the screen didn't break. The camera is absolutely fantastic despite not being a flagship. There are scratches on its plastic back, but if I change the cover it will look as good as new. To this day, I still use it as my backup phone at home, for music and reading. After Microsoft removed Nokia brand from phones, people just started boycotting Lumia phones. Because it was unfair whichever way you look at it. Nokia and Lumia brands didn't fail, they were engineered to fail by Microsoft. It is all politics which we are not allowed to discuss on this forum.

For almost £500 I expect more. It doesn't offer much for the price.
The spec's are mediocre compared to other phones in that price bracket.
