They don't need lessons from anyone when it comes to software and hardware support and certainly not to repairability! The G22 is an attempt to sell basic stuff and call it repairable. The Fairfone is really repairable and doesn't require anything but one philips screwdriver. Not plast guitar stuff to remove a back, nothing glued, just screws and connectors. Great!

While I was a fan of the xr20 the only things that sound better for the successor are the reduced size and the slightly better chipset. All the rest is a step back except for the expected price that is higher than the launch price of the xr20.
And again a fucking LCD on a device that isn't cheap and especially when the do have oled screens of the same size (x30) (and don't give me the lame excuse of not ideal for ruggedized devices because that's a lie.
In short, certainly not worthy of swapping your xr20 for this one as an upgrade but potentially interesting for someone who's looking to purchase a rugged thing.
Personally, I completely abandoned the hmd nokia thing after utterly poor experiences with the sw upgrade to android 13 on two devices and similar issues with a normal security/new build upgrade on the third one. Even the support of Nokia was incredibly poor when it came to fixing these issues. Sure they exceed at asking endless questions via the support app but the fixes either didn't help or fixed the reported issues but causing other ones instead. In the end they almost claimed that I should use these phones just like a dumb phone. Too bad as I was very satisfied before that.
Oh and don't buy the promise of their 333 or 444 update promises. It's a lie and this device again proves it...releasing a new device for that price on android 12 with the promise for 4 major upgrades? Well that are only 3 major upgrades as they cannot explain why this device launches with version 12. Also, they don't make any statements about the speed of these major upgrades either as it took 1 year or more to upgrade devices on version 11 to 12 meaning that it will take a decade to get to 13. By the time you would expect your device to get the final major one, the phone will already have died.
Too bad. Again a missed opportunity to live up to the glory of old nokia days.

Why the hell is this thing 230g? You'd expect a 6000mah battery and a glass back at that weight with maybe 6.7" screen.

But plastic back, 4800 mah battery and only 6.5" screen. Imagine carrying this brick around for no extra benefit..

I've used a 765g device for 2 1/2 years and it still performs excellently, and the 695 beats that chipset in Geekbench 6 single and multi core scores.

The one issue is Qualcomm not supporting chipsets more than 3 years, this doesn't mean it can't be updated, just it becomes more time consuming for ODMs (see Fairphone for example).

Am I the only person on earth that thinks the 3 things that so obviously make a great phone are:
                        5.5 inch, 2560 x 1440, 16:9.
                        Removable battery.
                        microSD.
Literally every phone on earth is now one of these long and lanky stupid things.

Android 12 with 4 OS updates is their way of saying it'll only get 3 Android OS updates.

Android 14 beta is already out.
NOKIA is the only well-known company I know that is dumb enough to release an Android 12 device in 2023.

I didn't want to lose hope. I was on standby buying Samsung Galaxy devices waiting for NOKIA to get back in their game. But now, I've lost all hope. NOKIA is a joke now. 😔
