It's 10.5mm in the specs. Is it measured at the camera protruding area only? Can anyone confirm, please?

Anonymous, 15 Jun 2023Nothing screams cheap and outdated more than a bottom bezel... moreI actually like a bit of bezel especially on the buttom for grab touch move purposes, where without bezels is just highly infuriating/frustrating.
Anyhow, this one has bigger bezels because of obvious reasons. The screen itself is the "bottleneck" of the device, when it comes to breaking points. So it needs to stay as far away as possible from the edges to be safe from damage. Edge to edge screen will never manage the military grade standards. So yeah, the phone was not made to look at the bezels and how fine they are or aren't, is actually made to be used in very rough conditions. Not the "i want cheap flagships with no bezels, to play games and complain about the battery" type of persons, is targeted here, but the persons who work in constructions or do sports like downhill, Paragliding, Mountainbiking, climbe Mountains and so on.
For the "bezel less" person, there are like a tone of garbphones that floaded the market, so why comming here to complain about device that does not want to be just "another brick in the wall"?

Are you mistaking USB 2.0 for USB Type A connectors?

Anonymous, 15 Jun 2023Nothing screams cheap and outdated more than a bottom bezel... moreBezels are beneficial on a rugged device in terms of helping protect from drops and damage, arguably they are also useful for ergonomics on regular smartphones, but the current fad is for bezeless designs.

The XR21 can be criticised for a bunch of other design decisions but I don't think bezels are an issue on a phone with a MIL-STD-810H rating.

'The Mirror' tested Nokia XR21 and drove a car over it and the screen didn't crack. Amazing.

I feel it is probably a combination of a low-quality haptic motor and designing the phone around an existing model such as the G60 but not accounting for how the materials will affect the haptics.

This phone deserves to be reviewed by GSMArena. There is a lot of interest in the phone.

Are you sure this phone can record up to 4K@30fps?

I think most of PCs still have at least 1 USB 2.0 support connection. So you should be ok without the SD card slot.

XR20 looked nicer. It had a crappy camera though.

Having just broken my phone I was almost exited to return to the Nokia brand, having got fed up with Sony's terrible build quality and even worse customer service. The XR21 looked very promising on paper, but I don't think I can buy it.

The XR21 has no SD card slot, and only supports USB 2.0, a standard that's pretty much a quarter of a century old. How do you get your photos off the phone to (more) permanent storage without a monthly subscription to google drive? (The free 15 GB - or the

So, i just bought today this Nokia phone, since year 1996 i had only Nokia brand phones. I think Nokia owe me a cake or something, i am not joking. Well been so happy with Nokia phones for so long, that does not make any sense to change the brand. "Nokia for life" well i hope so, lol

My opinions from using the XR21 for the last week:

                                        - The size and weight reductions are noticeable compared to the XR20, the XR21 is easier to handle and use and feels even more like a 'normal' phone.
                                        - The design feels 'off', it is a definite step down from the XR20 despite the same material for the back panel. The placement of some buttons and ports make it obvious this was designed around another device by an OEM.
                                        - The haptic/vibration motor is terrible. I am glad I did not buy the XR21 outright because I really value haptics and this feels like it should be on a phone 3 times cheaper.
                                        - The display is pretty nice, one of the better LCD panels I have used. The colour accuracy may not be the best but they are nicely saturated. It can still be difficult to see in direct sunlight despite auto brightness boost.
-Touch response rate seems to be slow despite adaptive 120hz refresh rate and enhanced sensitivity enabled. Often a tap will register as a long press.
                                        - Speakers are pretty good quality and a noticeable improvement from the XR20 in clarity.
                                        - The fingerprint reader is still too sensitive like the XR20
                                        - Performance is reliable and pretty fast, battery life is good but not exceptional for the capacity and chipset.
                                        - The main camera is a real surprise, the auto-mode is the best from HMD is a long time, and better than the X30 which overexposes and blows-out highlights. White balance and colours seem pleasant and accurate, dynamic range is mostly wide too.
