Infinite Awesomeness, 27 Jan 2023Bruh you should get your ears checked.I had no problems with the sound on the Poco or Redmi phone, in fact I had to turn the volume on the Redmi down to around 70 percent because it was too loud. After posting my comment on this phone I read the GSMArena review on it and noticed that they were disappointed with the speakers, in particular the top one which is closest to your ear, so I don't think my concern has anything to do with my hearing as you claim. I am using OS 1.1.7 and the problem hasn't been addressed yet.

This has to be the worst phone I have ever owned. The speaker volume is so low that I have a problem hearing what the caller is saying, and I have missed a few calls because the ringtone volume is so low I that didn't hear it ring.
Connecting to my car via Bluetooth was a nightmare, Before buying this I had a Poco F3 and after that a Redmi Note 11 Pro Plus 5G and both of those were recognised in seconds in my car but this phone would not connect. I eventually connected it but it took me over 30 minutes of trying.
I purchased it thinking that the camera would be an improvement but it is no better than the two other phones I mentioned.
Battery life is also poor. I set it up to the way I liked it when I first got it and then charged it to full power but by the end of the day it was down to 38 percent.

AJ, 18 Jan 2023I'm stuck on OP7Pro, don't know where to upgrade,... moreWarning: Wow, I wrote a dang freaking novel!
My bad, just read the first and last paragraphs and decide if you wanna read the rest lol

Yoo, phone twins! I've still got my 7 Pro as my daily driver, 3 years later. Nothing can beat it imo, (ha, I don't mean Nothing the co, but, I'll get to that in a second lol), and as far as I can see it's the only Oneplus I'll ever have. Thankfully we completely avoided the ColorOS merging fiasco! 🫣😮‍💨 But I still have yet to find a phone that would make me want to upgrade from a performance factor, because the 7 Pro is a truly unicorn beefy device.

The 7 Pro has been fantastic, and I'll never return to Samsung and their bloat and crummy optimized cameras, I'll never touch anything apple, and my only other consideration was potentially the Pixel 8 this year...

That was until I got my Nothing 1 in the US beta - thankfully moreso that I had a free line sitting on TMobile, the carrier the phone has the most possibility of working on 😁🥹🙌 I was surprised to get Android 13 and OS 1.5.1 so fast. It took some time getting used to the quickscreen buttons that I had so been dreading, but the experience isn't anywhere near as I had been fearing and loathing since I first saw Android 12 with the super long bars that took the space of multiple buttons. On Nothing OS/Android 13 the menu is more interactive, but essentially only takes an extra scroll to the right or left to get to every button I might want in a day, which isn't too much of a sacrifice in the end. And the theming of Material You is dope, I thought I wouldn't give a damn, but I found a cool green color I liked, and my opinion quickly changed haha 😁

I've enjoyed the experience so far the last few days. 5G seems to be working mostly well, tho is a bit wobbly sometimes, and switching to 4G remedies it. Sometimes it likes to try and switch between multiple 5G bands over and over, depending where I'm at, but that's about my biggest complaint I can find with the phone, which I don't even care about lmao 😂 I do wish that the right gesture went forward in browsers and apps, instead of backwards just like the left gesture. Confused about this but that's not on Nothing.

The Nothing phone has been a dream, and it compares very well to the 7 Pro. Definitely has better cameras, tho I do like the Oneplus camera UI more - not counting the extremely low shutter button ofc!! The processor is just as fast or faster than the 7 Pro - I'd say faster since this is running 120 hertz all the time, and I've hardly seen it hiccup like 2 times, super briefly. I wouldn't even expect the Samsung Ultra to be this smooth of an experience! It doesn't lag, the aren't animation jitters, the phone has only crashed/rebooted a couple times and that was while I was trying to access an SD card via a USB C to USB cable and a subsequent USB/SD card adapter, but after 2 self-reboots (thankfully happened only while reading data, not during copying), it was able to access the card easily and transfer +15gbs of music in roughly 8 minutes or so 👌 battery life has also been killer so far, but I have no google account signed in, no social media (just Reddit is Fun), and I only use it as a browsing/YouTube/now music and light show device, but it gets +7 hours with ease, and fast charges even faster than the 7 Pro!! The cameras perform better than the 7 Pro as well imo, but it's not a super significant difference.

I'd say the Nothing One is like a diagonal upgrade from the 7 Pro. It's am upgrade still, but it's much more horizontal than vertical, if that makes any sense? Like you'd get more out of a Pixel 7 Pro or an iPhone 14 Pro, performance wise I assume, since they're more than double, of not triple the price of the Nothing 1. But it's hard for me to believe so, when this phone is a fresh improvement over the already-great-and-fast experience we have on the 7 Pro. I don't even have to wait for the(7 Pro) phone to process anything, and I don't game on my phone, so to me I've already hit the processing ceiling of what I need phones to do 🤷🏽‍♂️ And the Nothing 1 comes with 8 gigs of RAM which means I'm never waiting on the phone for anything either. The glyph lights are super rad, I'm stoked to use them outside when camping later this year, and just to show off to people hehe 😄 this thing is the phone equivalent to the Steam Deck I would say, as it's very much for people who love tech and don't mind showing it off, and it absolutely generates talk and excitement by simply existing.

The fact I got this for $300, no tax and no shipping, is a goddamn steal 🙌🥹
Welcome to my Nothing TED Review lmao

I highly look forward to the US Nothing 2 that I assume will probably arrive next year 🥴

Ehi guys this nothing phone got so much better after latest android 13 update. Everything working as expected, the UI looks amazing and smooth. And the battery last far more than before as it is been announced by nothing for this update. Got 4 hours of screen on in 12 hours with 57% left with even 2 hours of whatapps calls. Face and fingerprint unlocks seem to work better here too

Rex785, 20 Jan 2023Hey I just read what you wrote but i have a question. Do ... moreHey! It really depends on what you prefer to have in a smartphone.

S21FE pros - faster SoC; probably a bit better, but smaller, screen (though the Phone 1's is also very good); telephoto camera; IP68 certification; better sound quality.

S21FE cons - because of the SD 888, it heats up a lot (my hands started sweating after 5 minutes of messing around with it in the store); the Android isn't clean - lots of bloatware and OneUI on top of it; the main and wide cameras are not as good as the Phone 1's; battery doesn't last as long; if your option for the S21FE is the 6GB RAM version - the base version of the Nothing Phone 1 has 8GB, so you'd be better off with it; S21FE is still quite stuttery, which I can't say for the Nothing Phone 1.

OneUI is of course a preference, if you prefer it over stock Android, go for it.
And besides the pros and cons above, the Phone 1 is just the more interesting phone, in my opinion. The Glyph interface is more of a gimmick, but it's really cool, nonetheless.

For me, the Nothing Phone is the better choice.

Do you think it is worth it to pay 30 euro extra for Samsung galaxy s21 fe snapdragon edition or should i buy the nothing phone 1?
                                    Thanks in advance!

It's a great phone, with a few lacking elements. I'm coming from iPhone 11 Pro as I wanted to try something different, and I'm amazed how quick, responsive and pleasant to use the Phone (1) is. The camera is also better than the iPhones, however, it's missing a telephoto lens and that's very unfortunate. GCam improves it even further, to the point where it easily rivals the Pixels. The biggest negatives in my opinion are the uneven stereo speaker balancing and the lack of proper IP67/68 certification. There is IP53 though, and the build quality is excellent, the buttons feel amazing, the display is gourgeous, the camera cutout is in the best place - in the corner, wireless charging is nice to have, and to say again - the phone is incredibly fast. My iPhone 11 Pro feels stuttery now, though I know it's not, it's just the 60hz refresh rate. The glyph interface is quite beautiful, and it could be useful in lighting a scene while shooting photos or video. Not sure about how practical it is in terms of notifications, as if you're looking at it, then you can't see the screen and also interact with the phone. The LEDs will, however, help you locate your phone in a dark room, as they can get very bright (brightness is adjustable in the settings menu).

Before the iPhone I had a Motorola Z Play, which I last used with Android 10, I believe, and the difference in UX between now and then is night and day. The episodes of insufferable stutteriness that I remember from 3.5 years ago are nowhere to be seen when using the Phone (1). There is the occassional hiccup in an animation, but nothing major.

Overall, I'm very happy with the Nothing phone (and it's absolutely gorgeous in white), and I can see myself using it long-term. The iPhone is definitely the more premium device, but with this comes the hefty price tag. And despite the massive difference in price, the Nothing phone holds its own and even has quite a few advantages.

Lastly, I want to say that I went through a vigorous research process before I decided on the Nothing phone 1. I looked into and went to see personally, the S21FE, Moto Edge 30 Neo and Fusion, Pixel 6a/6, Nokia X30, but among all, I liked the Nothing Phone the best. If I could have a second one from the aforementioned, for free, I'd go for the Pixel 6. The Pixel 6a comes very, very close, but the 60hz screen is a dealbreaker for me, in this day and age.

And there you go, if you're looking for a phone in this price class, I'd say go for the Nothing Phone 1 or Pixel 6/6a.

I'd be happy if you've read through everything and enjoyed it. :)

AJ, 18 Jan 2023I'm stuck on OP7Pro, don't know where to upgrade,... moreIt depends on what space you mean. Like I said before there are maybe better phones with the same price but for me the build quality, unique and flow UI and Its one of a kind design will do the work. Plus it's strong enough to handle everything you ask for.
