i expected better than that, since a lot of devices right now have a smaller battery and got more than that. It is however the 778G not the 778G+ not sure how big the impact could be.

I sorted phones with SD 778 reviewed on this website (at the time of making this comment) here: https://www.gsmarena.com/results.php3?sFreeText=Snapdragon%20778&chkReview=selected
1 of the other 8 has the same 4500mAh but had a higher battery endurance (Samsung A52s at 118hrs vs Nothing 1 at 108h).
While 2 out of the other 8 had smaller batteries than Nothing 1 but still posted higher endurance: Xiaomi 12 Lite 5G NE with 4250mAh at 122h and Realme GT Master with 4300mAh at 114h.
Nothing 1 had a higher endurance rating than 4 out of the other 8 but those have smaller batteries so that's expected.
Battery appears to be good enough but in the midrange segment alone with similar chipset, it clearly doesn't have the highest endurance. Although there's nothing bad about average, nothing shocking about it either.

And Jesus, both of the results are SHOCKING. This is possibly the highest endurance rating for a 4500 mah battery we've ever seen in a mid-ranger/flagship, and the loudness test puts the Nothing phone firmly ahead of anything apart from the ROG phones and iPhones.
It does seem like, despite the poor main specs, the underlying software and hidden aspects of the phone are VERY good.

Anonymous, 22 Jul 2022778 is no more than 1 year old. Yes, which makes it older than the latest iteration (7gen1). And technically, 870 was released in 2021 as well, (although much earlier than 778) but my point was, if the company was set on using a Snapdragon chipset but not the latest one, then it could've been the more capable 870 (4k@60fps among advantages) and for this price, that would've elevated the phone's status from a premium midrange to a flagship killer making it easier to recommend in general.

If the company insists on using an older SD chipset at this price, it should've been SD 870 (renamed 870+ or whatever), which is capable of 4k@60fps. Missed opportunity to have a flagship killer pedigree imho
