Today I just bought a new Oppo Find X3 Neo 5G for 375 euros. It has 50 Mp with OIS + telephoto + ultrawide + macro, super charging 65 W, curved screen 90 Hz, Snapdragon 865 + 256Gb storage + 12 Gb ram + 3 years OS update. For the price, mutch better.

there are exceptions, like oneplus nord, or moto edge 20, but generally phones besides flagships share this intentionally worse design philosophy for literally no reason whatsoever

why make this phone when you can take snapdragon 888 (better cpu) and shove it to a new phone and just keep updating the OS for 5-6 years.
i don't need the led lights, i don't need the PRIVACY gimmick (OSOM OV1), just make good phone and keep updating it for a long time.
the SoC can be a flagship of the last year for lowering the price.
for example you can take the oneplus 9 (not the pro) and make it a flagship killer now (it only costs 440 USD now on aliexpress).
just call him with a strange name like 6plus7 and sell him.
i'll buy any phone with great last year SoC and promise to update the OS as long as apple update her phones.
