I've been outside in the rain many times using multiple different non-IP rated phones with no issues.
It's nothing, but a marketing gimmick, adds no protection. For water resistance the only thing you need to look for in a phone are rubber gaskets, if a phone has it, it will survive rain. That simple.

The only thing I really like about this phone is the UI. Nothing OS 2 looks much better than before.

So, only gsmarena gives good grade to the camera. All other sites they report the camera is mediocre at best...

Anonymous, 15 Jul 2023That's useless. Phones priced less than half of it are... morePersonally, i think that s the last thing i think about, i m having an Iphone 13 pro max, and even if it s ii68, i m never gonna let it touch water, and same goes for every phone i will ever have, regardless of their water resistance. I think that the price point is fair giving how good it looks and the specs overall, tho i don t know much about the UI.

Features look like midrange phones. It's a hyped phone just for its design. Nothing is never focused on the standard of performance.

justasmile, 15 Jul 2023It has IP54 rating though. That's useless. Phones priced less than half of it are having ip67/8 rating. At this price point they should've given full resistance, if they're calling it a flagship. Guess you've never been outside in rain.

I really want this phone, and nothing can stop me from loving it( yeah, couldn't help myself:) ). GSMArena's review even made me wants it more. Under-clocked chipset, gimmick LEDs, no telephoto lens; I don't care, this phone has make me excited about phones, after about a decade lack of innovation in this industry, in my opinion.

It seems folks who complain performance isn't on their standard then it's just a hype due to its phone's design.. Those folks must be naked at all times, wouldn't wear something that is not bulletproof, not fireproof, not nuclear proof... and tell "clothes are nothing but a design, it has no snapdragon 8 Gen 2 with RTX 4090 on it"

Also, 7 gen 2 doesn't exist.

"the best or most important thing owned or produced by a particular organization."
Source: simple google search
The Nothing Phone (2) is Nothing's flagship, whereas the Poco F5 Pro isn't Xiaomi's flagship, that's the Xiaomi 13 Ultra, and no Poco and Xiaomi aren't 2 separate companies or brands.

justasmile, 15 Jul 2023Nothing phone 2 is supposed to be a flagship, not mid-range... moreWhy would I? No I wanted them to use the Snapdragon 7 Gen 2, it would be way better.
Nothing makes Nothing Phone 2 a flagship handset. It has no IP68 rating or 2k screen. Like I said, it's a mispriced and wrongly marketed.
Poco F5 Pro is more flagship and is cheaper than Nothing Phone 2.

OHYES, 15 Jul 2023I was one of the "This is OVERPRICED AF" gang whe... more"If it was starting at 530 to 550 it would be a tremendous value for money but considering you have to buy a 45W charger and some protectors.."
Well, considering that the Galaxy A54 with it's horrible Exynos chispet is 480 usd where I live, for the 8gb/128gb version and 570 usd for rhe 8gb/256gb and comes with a crappy cable, that's it. The Nothing Phone (1) is also 570 usd for the 8gb/256gb version, which I wouldn't say is good value, because it's not, but it's better than the A54 because of it's chipset alone.
So I'd say they did a better job with the Nothing Phone (2) than with the Phone (1) in terms of both specs and pricing. Altough the Phone (2) is clearly not meant for where I live, since it actually costs 870 usd for the 12gb/256gb version, which is however overpriced even in my opinion.
