No, they never advertise new phones until release on the website. They don't have a "coming soon" section.

Express always has O2 Adverts in, didnt see it for a few days after it was released, so guess it wasn't a special advert to promote the one phone

Yeh but there is nothing about this phone on the website yet. Wouldn't you think if they were releasing it soon, like in the next week then they would have at least some info on it?

I saw no advert in any paper advertising the X2 before it's release date of the 1st of May, maybe I should start reading the Star or something? lol.

Im With ya!! - but Since there has been no official date from O2, they wont be!! ;-)
Im sure when they are ready to release it, they will put adds in some papers - like they did with the X2, otherwise its just a case of checking the website over the next week or so!!!

Oh blimey.. repeats himself for the tenth time.
Online sales get new phones, in general 2 weeks before the O2 shops, then after that non O2 shops will sell them.
That way they can make more money, (plus pull the plug if the beta test bunnies who buy them online find they don't work! lol.

It's just another example of a company who has help lines set up in another country, with all due respect, their English is far better than my foreign languages, but they often just don't understand the question, and then fob you off with a standard response. (Like look at the website.) Only 2 out of 20 os so staff who I have dealt with have been able to answer a simple question. Terrible customer service!

Hmmmm. Now im confused. Onlines sales ARE saying this week. And 02 dealerships are saying the 16th. And home shopping is adding 10 days on that. WTF

Oh blimey.
O2 shops, and upgrades, have been getting new phones, like the X2, up to two weeks later than the online sales. That is why they are saying the 16th. Phone up online sales and the *should* tell you it is out this week.
As for the website, it goes down frequently, it is one of the worst sites for doing it, unfortunately it means nothing, apart from the site is rubbish!
