Dale, did whoever brought you the phone pay by card? if so they can prove they brought it from there and take it back. Have you actually been back to argos yourself to try taking it back? They won't give refunds without receipts but they may well offer a replacement. You could also speak to O2/benq or whoever because obviously the phone will have a guarantee.

    i had that prob to m8, just died, take it back get a new phone just make sure it aint a o2x3 m8,
    some poor sods are on there 10th phone,
    all o2x3 owners just put your phones in the bin, as it is the best place for them :)

      Andy, they all work, just coz its not listed doesn't mean they wont work...

      Never experienced java crashes. might be the game you're trying to run...

      I'm afraid there's nothing you can do... what caused it?

      The phone has to be replaced. I dont know what causes it or why it does it. You could visit your local o2 shop, or phone the number I posted a while ago...

        cant get ringtones for x3 even on this site wats the problem with x3 is it cursed.. the benq model isnt listed in the ringtones or wallpaper area either

          Any one experience crashes with Java? I downloaded splinter cell pandora tomorrow and on the menu screen it crashes when I press something.

            i'm havin major probs with x3.worked ok for about week then died.took my sim out (which works ok on my old nokia)and my x3 said "please insert sim" so i put sim back in the x3 and it wont even turn on. take the sim out and it works requesting i insert sim take sim out and it wont even turn on. can anyone help? got x3 as xmas present and receipt was disgarded with all the wrapping paper so cant even take back to argos. please help me!!!!!

              Hi all
              just got my o2x3 this weekend,i am very happy with it so far, nice size looks very nice, great phone, apart from the photos it takes, i can live with that,as i only payed £80 from the friday add

                almizer, I have had no experience in getting the sound quality up... I did convert a few adverts with xilisoft and they are OK. Although I havent been able to convert my Father Ted episodes to 3gp, as they always fail, I will experiment and let you know.

                  Nick, after much experimenting, it seems that my 3gp's made from mpeg2's have out of sync sound and video. When I convert to avi first (using microsoft mpeg4 v2 compression), when I convert them using ImToo, the resulting video is in sync. I think xilsoft is much the same at least it looks like it. Do you have any problems getting the sound to be better quality than 8000 HZ (i.e. 44100Hz) because whne I increase the setting the file will fail to convert.

                          A card reader is a USB adaptor that can read cards... you will need a MiniSD adaptor too, and an SD reader

                                  I'm sorry you guys but the 02X3 is one of the best phones I've had. I've had Nokias, Motorolas, Sagems (which, surprisingly is my second favourite!), Sony Ericsson (which is the worst so far) and this is a good phone.

                                  The camera, like ANY camera, requires handling that means it WILL be in focus. That's not the phones fault, it's the users. At first, I was the same, but I realised how to use it so that it works well. And it DOES look like I've taken digital camera pictures and everyone I know agrees. You will be aware, of course, that after you click to take the picture, it is about a second later the phone actually takes it? By then, you've probably moved your hand, though. Be patient and wait for it to come up and it will not be out of focus. If anyone wants to see some high quality pictures, give me your email addy and I will show you. I've just checked out the CIF setting on the video camera and it's bloody fantastic.

                                  This phone is small, it's attractive and most of all it won't set you back a lot of money. It has a video recorder, mp3 player, and a bloody good camera for a phone and it's only £180. For what it is, I think you're getting a damn good deal. Nick is right, it's different to Nokias and Ericssons but just because it doesn't suit the way you like a phone to be, doesn't mean it's crap.

                                  If I have problems anytime soon with this phone (even though everything has worked fantastically so far) I will come back and I'll tell you honestly. But until that happens, the features of this phone are fantastic. And I believe the camera is down to your own misuse because my pictures ARE the quality of a digital camera. It could be better, yes, but this phone is a PHONE and not a camera. I looked at the SD500 pictures and they are NOT better.

                                      Got the o2 x3 for £100 brand new and just want to say that it is an excellent phone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
                                      (bought from ebay)
                                      have order a 256mb mini sd, so soon will have loads of mp3s
