Got my X3 over a month ago, not had a single problem with it. I'm overall impressed with it although bettery life could be better.
Got a Mini SD converter card from my local 02 shop for £5.99 and its now simple to click and drag music files to the card, the sound produced by the X3 is surprinsingly good.

K700 good phone but hasnt got all the features of the X3 mp3, 1.3mp cam etc - thats what ill miss, but the 6230 has got everything the X3 did but screen is smaller and only VGA cam - but looking on the mobile-review forums at pics, they are much better and sharper than the X3s anyway!

Unknown - your almost right but not quite!!
In the terms of sale o2 say you have the right to change your mind within 14 days and return the phone,for replacement or full refund, this is extended to 28 days should the phone become faulty in this period, after that nothing in law says that they have to change it, and indeed their policy is to send it away for repair! - the only re-dress you could have in law is by using the sale of goods act against them and proving the phone is 'not fit for the purpose it was intended' ie doesnt function as described by them straight out the box - thats different to it developing a fault at later date and it happening then!
I was tempted to try it as major bug I found was after few days mms stop sending to recipients even though the handset said it sent - but I was told id have a hard job proving it was not just a fault that had developed and but an inherit fault with the phone - so I couldnt be arsed!!! - after 7 X3s and many hours on the phone to data support it wasnt worth it and O2 have sorted a new Nokia 6230 as replacement so cant grumble too much now!

well sent my phone back,had it for 2months and it crashed and that killed it :(, all i say thanx god its gone bad phone, and thay said it would be sent away to be fixed, but i just said no way do i want another, and that was that orderd a new phone now k700i :)

James - I doubt you will get any joy from the o2 shop after 2 months as the terms of sale state that after 28days it will be sent away and repaired.
you could have it sent away and upgraded with the new firmware (takes a week) but it may not solve your probs but in the 1st instance thats what you should do, then if it doesnt cure the probs your best bet would to do what myself and shaun did approach o2 customer satisfaction department you may get it swapped to another model by them (shauns X3 is ok - but ive gone for Nokia after 7 X3s)(there aware of the many probs with the X3) - if no joy there threaten them with Watchdog stating there are 77 pages of problems documented here :-)
Personally id forget about the store and go our route we got things sorted fast that way!

yeah you can take your 02x3 phone back even if you had it 11 months, and dont let them give you shit about it, as it is law :) as you buy a phone with 1 year warrnety, simple as that....thay might say thay will send it away to be fixed, but thats bollocks to, just get a new one

Is it possible to take your X3 back to the O2 shop to get a replacement after having had it for over 2 months. I only just started getting problems. It switches itself off, it freezes, the media messaging doesn't work and I can't download 3gp videos from Wap. Is it true that there's a new firware version out?

yeah i had a nokia 6230 its a good phone :) only thing i never like was the small screen and low ress of it

Well me geting Nokia 6230 now as replacement for the X3 - not as good cam (VGA) and small screen 65kcolour but it will do for me!!

its gd, camea is slo to sve and load up, intanet freezes ALOT!! the fone freezes and gets drrty, gd wen u can read mesagezs from the external screen, memory crd stores to little. u av 2 b complete still 2 get a gd foto. tones r gd, colors amazing!!! nce lights

Shaun - im of the belief (and O2 are thinking the same thing) its a software prob that affects the X3 when a PAYG sim is in it - as whats happening is that after a few days of mms being sent ok, it stops sending them (despite it saying its sent ok)and the payg part is that the credit does not show up when its sent (Data support can see that when I send the mms it doesnt hit the MMS server, and a callis not made to credit reduce the credit balance accordingly) - obviously its handled differently for contract customers as its added to the bill rather than reducing the credit and displaying the new credit on the handset - but why it works fine for a few days then stops it what no one can work out!!

Sam - some of the phones are ok - whereas some are not, I Just got fed up trying to get a working one, so am looking for O2 to swap it (which there in the process of doing)
The Cam is ok, but obviously no match for a digital camera!!
My probs were the sending of mms (it stop sending after few days of having the phone- despite it saying it had been sent ok)
