Love this phone but: Too many soft resets, too many screen freezes and too many growing pains for such a new OS despite latest software download from O2! I think it requires a complete OS overhaul.

3 problems i experienced and still wondering how to get those ironed..
        1) Phone pad does not pop up 50 percent of times and needs a soft reset. This is bad during an urgent call as it takes atleast 2 minutes to come up after a soft reset. 2) Horizontal and vertical screens mesh up many times after the swivel action of the screen. 3) All applications have to closed through task manager thus taking more time.

Aint much happy about this problems. Any suggestions guys ???

Had my XDA for several months now and have experienced some of the problems that other users have particularly with the o2 Active User Interface causing system problems, however I installed the latest software update from o2, (Version 1.13.188) and I haven't had to soft re-set since. The update removes those annoying o2 and battery icons, stops the error reporting and removes the "Personal" option from the set-up screen although you can install the o2 Active User Interface from "Programs" if you wish. It drops a nice little battery indicator on your today screen that's pretty cool! Seems all we have to do is wait for Microsoft to make programs close instead of minimise and we'll all be happier. Of course, all this doesn't make it perfect for everyone, nothing ever is, but it's getting there for me!

            Hi,

Could you please let me know amongst all XDA models, which one I should go for? My requirements would be; using it as a small pc!, using it as a mobile phone with alomost all features, and value for money.

            Thanks

Just quoting SpielbergFoo comment below, even if the Exec is made with 262K TFT screen, it can only display 65K colours since the OS only support up to 65K.

I'm O2XDA supporter,I regretted after using O2 XDA Exec by paying HI-price not worth it. COZ Display should hv TFT 262K colours,Ringtones type:must hv extra Truetones/AMR,WLAN:802.11b&g,camera Must hv 2MP or 3MP VGA/XGA camera with flash good quality 2x-4x zoom, battery :1800mAh/2000mAh,without Voice dial.Besides the most important thing is the memory, card slot: must hv at least Intel BULV 624mhz-128/256ROM & 128/256RAM or like PalmOne 4gb HD.& SDIO/MMC must support up to 4Gb.For next future O2XDA by HTC,I'll be waiting for new improvement on new gagdet HI-End PPC.Sorry to say that I don't mind paying HI-price buying but at least worth it.

Got mine yesterday (thur 29), great piece of kit, have not experienced screen freeze that other users mentioned. Video play back on small screen only, full screen has black borders and jumpy. all connectivity I have tried works, just wifi to try. This is new stuff so stick with it and wait a while for the patches and 3rd party software. Bluetooth headset a must.

Thanks Andi c! I also believed I have a defective set, but just do not have another set for benchmarking.
Have consulted the service center but was told cannot do anything??? I have no time to persue the issue, may be go down personally to the service center to settle this once and for all. Thank you for your feedback.

This is probably the best for now until the DualCor Technologies' (www.dualcor.com) new but highly powerful cPC model comes out early next year. The product photos alone are enough to perk you up for sure!

Help! Has anyone had trouble loading TomTom5 software. I keep getting error messages and the dialog box to send an error report. I contacted TomTom but they haven't evaluated the phone yet.

In reply to ludlow2001us, I haven't expereinced any of your 1st 3 issues (don't have any experience for the other 3); sounds to me like you have a bad phone, and could get it exchanged.

And for yooku, there's no downside in my experience; phione runs quicker and more reliably, and I don't want all that O2Actove stuff
