Hello guest..
for your questions:
1. Printing. Yes you can print directly from the Flame. You can print any document or mail directly from the O2 XDA Flame. There are printer drivers available at the O2 Website ->
http://www.seeo2.com/o2connect/template/ExternalSoft.vm#hpdriver
2. Copy data to Pen Drive (flashdrive). YES. This is possible. O2 XDA Flame has USB-On-The-Go (USB OTG) which allows you to plug in flash drives into an USB Host connected to the flame and the flashdrive will be seen as a drive on the Flame. See reference link:
http://www.pcworld.idg.com.au/index.php/id;1409835678;fp;32768;fpid;93406578
3. Editing Powerpoint. There are several applications that you can install with Flame that can perform this but the pocket powerpoint seems satisfactory, here are links:
http://www.pocketpcfaq.com/faqs/PocketOfficeFeatures.htm
http://www.yetanotherhomepage.com/j7xx/j7xx.html?/j7xx/software/office/pocketpowerpoint.html
4. Multitasking. Hmmm.. I havent tried this one.. will inform if tested .. :)
5. You can connect to a pc through ActiveSync
6. YES but its basically the same.

Hello everyone,
I am planning to buy a new phone but i m confused whether i should buy a normal phone or windows mobile phone. So can any one help me understand if the following functionality works on windows mobile?
1. Can I install printer on my PDA device and print any document like mail directly from my PDA device?
2. Can I copy data directly from my pen drive to PDA and vice a versa?
3. Can I edit power point presentations on PDA?
4. If I am playing songs and already transferring data to/from my PC simultaneously, then at this point if some one calls me, is the PDA/windows OS fast enough to handle all three tasks and properly recieve the call? Or does it hang at this point?
5. In our PCs we can go to Start > Run > \\ and browse other machines on the network. Can I browse these network folders using PDA? Does it connect to any PC with IP address? Or by any other means?
6. If I cant do the above step wirelessly, then Can I do it with my PDA is connected to my laptop with USB drive?

hey tarun... i dunno where you get your "partial" info on this discussion.. but your eyes must be closed., we're discussing O2 XDA Flame here.. and it is not manufactured by Quanta.. its Arima... you can refer to this link to be enlightened.
http://www.theunwired.net/?item=partnership-o2-asia-delists-asustek-but-continues-with-gigabyte-quanta-and-arima
there you are guys..
O2 XDA Flame = Arima Communications
O2 XDA Stealth = Gigabyte Communications
O2 XDA Atom Series = Quanta Computer
so to those who will be questioning the Flame, try checking the manufacturer first.
There are many ODM that manufacturers not only for O2 but for others as well, I-mate for example.

From O2 Technical Support:
And also, with reference to the query you have raised regarding Windows Mobile 6, please be advised that O2 Asia currently has no plans of providing Windows Mobile 6 for current models including Xda Atom except for Xda Atom Life and Xda Zinc at this point of time (no further news as of this moment).

tarun...its ok that you have faced problems. but it is not possible that every handset will have problem. O2 is just supplier. All these handsets made by HTC Korea. HTC provides handset to O2,i met,Qtek etc. Now you tell me who is in fault ? In billions of handset it is quite possible that 100 handsets will have manufacture fault. Not a big deal . O2 gave you replacement for your handset which is very good. Again if you are not satisfied then shift to other company which do not provide HTC handsets.

this a warning to all those who are planning to buy o2 devices in the future! beware!
I am from India. I was happy using O2 phones such as the XDA II and the Atom so I decided to go in for another. I purchased an O2 XDA Stealth on Feb 12th 2007 and had immediately regretted the decision as I started facing a hell lot of problems in the device. Almost after a month of correspondence with O2 they sent me a replacement handset. I was happy until i opened the new unit. It had the same problems and some new. Again after long talks with O2 (Mr Keanu) they sent me another replacement promising me that this would work but it did not. Naturally I was very angry and frustrated. At this stage I ahd lost all faith in the Stealth and demanded O2 to give me some other handset for all the inconvienience that I have faced . After a series of talks with O2 Singapore(Mr Keanu) I received an Atom Exec. But my problems worsened! After a couple of days the Exec "died" ie it would not charge. when the charger was connected it would show full battery and when disconnected it would switch off and not switch on for days. Highly annoyed and frustrated I began my talks again with O2 and at the same time bought the O2 Zinc. That was another error from my side as the Zinc also had problems. Its indicator LED malfunctioned and the microphone gave out static. Those were horrible times for me having two defective handsets. O2 finally agreed to replace both these handsets and they did. So I have already used 3 Stealths, 2 Atom Execs and 2 Zincs. That adds up to 7 O2 phones in about five and a half months!!!
Well things dont end here. once again I am having problems with the Zinc such as the LED is malfunctioning, the speaker switches on automatically when a call is made, the speaker dies out, screen freezes..etc..
So to all those who are planning on investing their money on an O2 device please do not as the quality of O2 devices is degrading day by day and is no longer dependable as it once upon a time was.
if any of you want to know bout the problems i faced in these many devices please contact me on
