Sim Lim Square has the Sandisk 256MB SDIO Wifi card. Selling for $2XX. Try shops like Bits & Bytes or AAAs.

    Thanks Keen and Fotonutz,
I think I did it the wrong way. I unzip the cab files and copy 4 of the files into my mini directory. What I did not is to copy the while zip files into my mini and from my mini I double click the zip files. Installed automatically. Now testing it. Thanks a lot guys. You all are great! Btw, anyone knows where to buy the wifi sd card with integrated memory?

Mel, dun go into the CAB file and copy the 4 files into the windows directory. just directly copy the whole CAB file into the directory and click on the CAB file. the patch runs automatically afterwards.

ya, fotonutz is right. try to install new or other programs into SD card instead of run by internal memory. I have mine 32MB internal memory free at the moment.

            Hi Mel

4 files?? Err, there is only one CAB file (EnglishMP3SetRingtone.CAB) which is only 95kb in size.

Is there another patch which consisted of 4 files?

              Hi FS

Saw from your earlier post that you have 22MB free in your internal memory after running Omega One.

Actually, there is no need to install any 3rd party memory allocation software. One thing good about the WM2003SE is that is does not really need the software to be installed into the device before it can be run. Basically most of the programs can be run directly from the SD card itself.

All you need to do is to shift any program files residing in \windows\documents that was created by the installation process and shift it into the \Storage Card.

That way, you don't need to waste precious storage space in the internal memory. In fact, I am running both my AGIS and Kingmap2 GPS software, Betaplayer, Adobe Reader, Resco Explorer, Realmedia, Pocket TV Pro, Worldmate Pro all from my SD card.

So, when shifting the files from the \windows\document folder to the SD card, make sure you test out the program and see if it still runs. If it doens't, shift it back to the original folder. So far, I didn't encounter any application that couldn't run directly from the SD card.

For your info, without using any memory optimization software on my Mini, my free internal memory now is 34MB! Hehehe......

                Fotonutz,
When you mentioned install and run the patch, I hope i understand it correctly, its the 4 files that you COPY AND PASTE in to the Mini directory. It doesnt matter which directory it resides, right ?

                  Mel and FS

Read with interest about your situation with the MP3 ringtones. For my unit, even though I set mine ringtone to the Sony Ericsson themesong and it is on powersafe mode, it still plays that song whenever someone calls me and not the default ring tone.

Even though I've hard reset my unit just to try out if it plays the default tone, I can't. It simply plays the assigned ringtone (ie SE themesong) once I've set it using the MP3 patch.

When you install and run the MP3 patch, it copies the MP3 file into \windows\ring even though the original MP3 file is residing in the SD card.

Jun Hui, if you are reading this, can you try this on your Mini and see if you encounter the same predicament as Mel and FS.
Not too sure if this has anything to do with tthe firmware version. As mentioned in my earlier post, I've upgraded my firmware for the camera. But that should not affect the rest of the apps.

                      Keen,
                      Thanks a lot. Noted.
As for the part which you mentioned, set as ringtone, I dont seem to able to find it anyway, I will try to research more on that. One more question, will your assigned Mp3 ringtone to your contact in the powersaver mode? Cos I tried mine in powersaver mode, it goes to the windows default ringtone just like what Fred is facing right now.Have u tried that ?

                            Dear FS and Fred,

when u assign ringtone from SD to ur contact, it doesn't duplicate the song neither to My Music in ur device nor SD. it reads from the SD card directly. So when there's a contact of urs with assigned ringtone, u'll get the ringtone u assigned. but...there'll b a lag of 1 - 1.5 sec before it really sound up.

                              To mel,

actually after u hard reset, u still can have the same files and software in ur Mini. Before hard reset, use the activesync to back up ur Windows Mobile 2003 SE. after that u can do the hard reset. after hard reset, u restore the file by activesync again, then u have the same old system that u have before u hard reset.

                                hi all,

Mini able to assign MP3 songs as ringtones. the file u all installed *.cab file, wat it actually does is installed a direct link to save ur MP3 to windows\ring folder.

after that u can assign it to ur ringtone by "set as ringtone" while tab and hold from tat song. so, if ur MP3 is a large file, ur storage will be reduced pretty much.

                                  FS,
Great, I shall follow the steps to install it. You have to rename the .exe file to some other extension to send to me as the file was being blocked.

                                  Snoop,
My biggest mp3 song size is 6MB and smallest is 1MB. As long as your 256MB SD card can accomodate all yr MP3 song, just try.
