How to configure MP3 tones to be assigned to your photo contacts. A problem I faced when I put the songs into my SD card is that whenever someone calls you and your O2 is in powersafe mode, the ring tone will be the default windows tone.An alternative is to disable the powersave mode in the settings/system/battery/advanced/uncheck the turn off device if not used for box. Then go and get yrself a mini usb cable for any charging needs. Btw, I saw a post somewhere that someone bought a mini USB cable, was it fotonutz? Where did u buy it ?

How to configure a alert tone for SMS -
Save the .WAV file into the O2mini windows directory.
    -Go to settings
    -Go to sounds and notification
    -Go to notifications
-Scroll down to New text messages
-Select the .WAV file that u save earlier on in the windows directory.

      Fred,
You are absolutely right about saving the ringtones in your main memory instead of your SD cards. I may have given you the wrong info. I tested myself. The default window sound will kick in when its in power off mode. but if yr songs assigned is in the main memory, u dun face such problems. my apologies. I see if there is anyway around it.

          Dear Mel,

Understood that you got the assign ringtone part to work even you stored the ringtone in the SD card.
However, I went to ask Technical Support from O2, they told me the ringtone would not work if you stored the ringtone in Storage Card. Because when the mini PowerSaveOff, it cannot immediately read the Storage Card, that's why they will automatically change it to Windows Default.
However, I really puzzle if this is the true reason or not, becuase I can assign photos to different use even PowerSaveOff.
Have you heard anything about this?

          Thanks,
          Fred

                        Dear FS.

My bad. Please ignore my previous msg. The ringtone that I installed in the phone memory are able to use even after PowerSaveOff. Only those stored in the SD can't be use. Is it because of the SD card?

                        Thanks,

                            Dear FS,

I tried to place the ringtone in the PDA instead of SD card, it's still the same result. It resets to Windows Default Ringtone after PowerSave Off.

Are there any patch I had missed installed?

                            Thanks,

                              hi steve,
b4 u buy this device, u hav to ask why u want this phone? Many people buy because of nice looking or people hav n i also want to hav!
For pDA phone, u will find it hang frequently at this moment. N i heard that Intel is developed a more powerful processor to target in PDA phone gadgets, which may hav >600MHz!! Are u dare to wait?? Ha..ha..me cant't wait, to make the economy grow...change the phone when it launch lor :)

for this phone other than speakers (camera for me is fine, if u take pic under good llighting u get good pic), then is a very good PDA phone.

example, i buy because I'm salesman. Need excel (store my price list ), powerpoint (my presentations). Excess mails thru wifi (external). synchro my contact, calender, task & outlook mails with notebooks.

if u r not a PDA user b4, i may affraid u will change the phone very fast.

pls consider b4 action. by the way, not a cheap gadget ler.....RM2688 ( i can get cheaper than tis)
also if u decide to buy, pls buy with those shop who can provide u software service like PDA Specialist in KL or Smart Gadget in PG. And dun mind to pay rm2688. U can ask for rm2600 ......their cost is aro rm24xx.

                                    to all...
                                    keep this in mind..
smartphone => phone embeded PDA function
pocket PC phone => PDA embeded phone function.
for those who are not familiar with PDA will hav hard time to use. So, suggested to use smartphone, for smartphone, pls dun get windows CE OS, as u may get the processor speed is damp slow and keep hang unless u see the processor speed >400MHz.
For Windows OS, devise keeps hang is a nature biz.....or I can said those gadget running softwARE will hang, only more or less.
the most stable OS for samrtphone is symbian & palm which i used b4. Not sure for linux & blueberry.
for XDA IIs, my cousin complain that it used to hang at least 2~3 times a day! of course... the old tech processor applied... only add more memory + camera + wifi.

if u r dun mind to carry more gadgets with u, the BEST is to have PDA n phone separate!

Is our mini classified under pocketpc or smartphone? Seems the same to me cos I am downloading some freewares and was asked this question.
