    O2 Lover

Strange...managed to undelete my Yahoo settings and followed exactly the same steps and it still works.

After I keyed in all the info, it didn't prompt me for any more user name and passwords.

Do you have a fren who have an O2 Mini. Perhaps you can get them to try. It seems to work on my unit. The only thing thing with mine is that I didn't check the box to limit the latest mail for the past XX number of days to download. As the box was unchecked, it downloaded all my previous Yahoo mails. As Yahoo mails is now 250MB, it downloaded almost 21MB worth of Yahoo mails which included all the Spam into my Mini!!

Perhaps you might wanna explore it again.

          Hi FS,
          Where is mydevice located?
Dun seem to be able to find it.I checked through all the folders. Anyway..my wav file song is about 16MB. :P...but I will go for it rather than having sms coming in without my notice which is kind of irritating..

i was hestitating to choose whether O2 XDA II mini (Intel MPU 416MHz) or XDA IIs (Intel MPU 400MHz)or Mot-MPX (TI MPU 200MHz). Mot MPX & XDA IIs have a very nice looking design. BUT, for PDA , I strongly suggested that we should focus on the MPU used. The mini XDA MPU is the latest MPU developed by Intel for multi media and phone support. For XDA IIs, the MPU is the same as XDA IIi and XDA II, so, u may know how the performance of this MPU works! For Mot-MPX, I tried Xphone which used the same MPU with MPX, it really "SUCK"!! So, finally i got mini XDA II. The only comment i have is, the good gadget integreted a VERY POOR speakers !!! I'm really dissapointed with the speakers!!

              - then go to "file explorer"
              - click "my device"
              - then click "windows"
              - in "windows" , click "edit" on your bottom left, and select "paste"
              - then, go to settings
              - click "sounds & notifications"
              - in "notification" page u will see "Event"
              - so, just scroll to find what u want and ste the ringing tone.
*** Remember, we only have 64M shared internal memory, so, watch out your ringing tone size.

                To ankur,

The buttons for O2 mini is a bit too small for me to press, however you can install a dialing software, D9, it has bigger buttons. That should solve the problem for those who has big fingers. For sms, I uses transcriber or the phonepad, works fine for me

                    Hi O2 Maniac,

I presume you are actually accessing your Yahoo mails from the webbrowser. Try this method and see if it works for you. I still prefer pop mails rather than webmail.

What I did to my Yahoo mail is to create a Yahoo mail account under the Messaging.

Click on Messaging,New Account, enter your yahoo e-mail, enter your Name, user name without the @yahoo.com followed by the password. Under Account Type, key in POP3, Name : Yahoo Mail.

                    Under the Incoming Mail: pop.mail.yahoo.com
                    Outgoing Mail:smtp.mail.yahoo.com
Leave Domain empty...do not type anything in there.

Once you've keyed in all the parameters, connect to GPRS and access your Yahoo mail via Messaging.

But,if you do not like to access your mails this way, I really don't have a clue as to what needs to be upgraded. Can't be the IE right???

                      1) can we change the message ringtone? wat
format then can be used? cos i downloaded
mp3 but only incoming calls can use. pls
                      advise.

                      2) i tried to connect to internet using gprs,
but when i wanna login to my yahoo mail,
it says that my internet explorer must

I was trying to chose between the Mini and the IIs. My only concern with the mini is that I hope the characters are large enough. Is it comfortable to SMS and dial using my finger. Please let me know.

Yup, the icon with the Microphone and the Red Cross at the bottom of the menu bar is the mute button.

                                        Sky:
When considering the O2 Mini, don't think about the camera quality. The images captured by the camera (even though rated at 1.3MP) is terrible. Even a VGA camera from Nokia, Samsung or SE is better than it.

Upgrading the firmware doesn't help at all.

Therefore, it makes one wonder if this is actually a 150K pixel camera which is interpolated to 1.3MP.

Going into the HTC's website doesn't help either....Is there anyone working for HTC, O2, Imate, Qtek reading this post? Would appreciate if they can comment on this issue.
But, despite the flaws with the camera, the rest of the phone/PDA function makes up for it. That is why this phone is selling like hot cakes. The only way to have your cake and eat it (wrt to the camera quality) is to wait for a couple of years for the CCD/CMOS sensor to improve and get the later models. But, can you wait? Hehe...
