DONT BUY A XDA2S!!! (Blue angel)
I brought mine here in Sunshine Coast here in Australia, and in 1 months i have had the have it repaired three times. The first time was to relpace the cf board, screen and keyboard, next time was to upgrade the software, and then the next and last time was to repair the speaker. I must have been the lucky bunny to recieve the one in a million dud. Does any one know how to increase the ringer volume as i have a hearing disability (One ear) and the tones are very subtle and very hard to hear??. any suggestions.

I found this post on the xda-dev site referred in a post below on how to make the IIs more stable by removing O2 icon:

Subject: How I made my XDA IIs more stable....thanks to Wilesd

I saw a post on here about the progs in the windows/startup folder. Someone mentioned that removing the "connections" executable file had made their XDA more stable. It seems to be the exe that places the O2 icon on the task bar at the top of the screen.

I tried just that...moved the file out of startup to a temp backup folder and did a soft reset.

That was a couple of days ago and I haven't had to reset since Very Happy Previously I was having to reset 3 or 4 times a day just through very light use!

Thanks for the suggestion Wilesd Very Happy

If you want a megapixel cam, buy a digicam.

If you want an mp3 player, by an mp3 player.

If you want a PDA with built in mobile phone, that plays mp3's, games, sat nav etc etc etc, then get the XDAiiS...

For those wanting to know how to use MP3 files as your ringtone, here's how:
          1. Copy the MP3 file you want to use to the /Windows/Rings directory;
          2. Then go to Settings->Sounds&Notifications->Notifications, then select the "Incoming Calls" in the Event drop down menu, and you should see the title of the MP3 song as an option. You can only use MP3 for ringtones, apparently you can't do so for other alerts.

          Hope this helps!

I have just found this software update here: http://www.my-xda.com/xda2s_soft.html and it says it will do the following:

"The latest Xda IIs System Software is available for you to download. New and changed in this version of software, v1.31.139 are:
                O2 Active v3.6:
                - An on-screen button to quickly flick between Landscape and Portrait modes
                - Repositioning of the O2 icon
Bluetooth build 3500, featuring improved pairing, compatibility and operation
General operational updates, improving power management and device stability

This software is for Xda IIs in UK and Ireland.

Does this mean that the XDA IIS should not freeze anymore?

I was thinking about buying either the O2 XDA 11i or the 11s. Can anybody tell me which is a better buy?

From what I have read, the 11i doesnt tend to freeze/hang or lock-up much, but the 11s seems to all the time, is this true?

Also, is there anyway to stop/reduce the XDA's from locking-up etc?

                  Thanks

My XDA was freezing every hours(had to do soft reset each time) prior to removing the O2 icon. Now it works great, no more freezes and slow downs. ;)

Apart from an inability on my part and the
engineers to successfully get the handsfree car kit to work this phone is brilliant.
We can search the net; read bank details (other phones get blocked out) download e-mail and send and receive messages. What more do you want.

Not a good phone at all.my calls used to get disconnected inbetween the conversation.phone hangs exactly wen you get a call and you press the accept button.Worst of all my camera software just disappeared wen I did a hard reset.so I had to go to the service centre to reloads the software. But it kept on diappearing again and again. So it nine visits to the service centre till now.
Major problem was with the screen alignment.so hd to give it to the centre to finally get my screen changed......well they took only a month to return the phone replaced with the new screen.....so all in all DONT BUY THIS PHONE.
