this phone is simply amazing.. everything you need ..crunched into one light weight, sophisticated, portable little gadget. however, dont let this impulse you to buy it right away... the battery life of this phone is terribly weak. get ready to charge it everysingle day..if not always carry ur charger with u.. besides that.. the screen is very sensitive and the fact that it does not have a key path like the p910 annoys me. but overall i do like the phone.

here is a copy of the English Manual >> http://xda.o2.co.uk/pdf/xdaMini.pdf
I have this phone for a 2 months now, lot of great features, tho u cant call this as a lightning fast phone, its features is what makes is different from the rest,
it is quite small for a pda phone (but thick)
i like the wifi that alerts you when a hotspot is detected,
i like the power saving options of the phone that you can fully customize, like if you dont mind a dim light on the phone, you can do so, and get extra power for wifi search, or maybe you can skip the wifi search, it also has scheduled turn on and tun off, for those who turn off their phones at night.. you can literally forget about it... the reason mhy they make such a customizable power saving feature is because... this phone is hungry for power ( a little bit of a downside)
id never had problems with active sync.. maybe those who had problemas with this is a bit a newbie in outlook, firewall, antivirus etc... (just a maybe)
the camera image quality? well for me its bad.. it is no where near my nokia 6630's (1.3MP) even well lighted picture is bad, but i can live with it:-) you get some, you loose some :-)
ive heard really bad things about the stylus falling off, hmmmm mine is still intact, my priorities in using it is first use the hard buttons, if u cant, then use the stylus, sometimes a couple of additional button tap is better than getting the stylus, saves time as well.
SPEED?? really slow, just keep the task manager empty, kill all the running programs, its a bit of a phone glitch (hope theres an upgrade in the future) but i can live with it. reset is always an option.
Ive heared 2Gig SDmini is compatible.. thats great, better upgrade ang leave your ipods at home (someday 4gig or hopefully 8gig will come)
Has anyone tried using skype thru wifi on this thing? i have installed it, but havent tried if it works.
Is it true that "clear storage" can eliminate the problems?.. i have the file needed to eliminate the O2 bollocks on this thing, but im not yet very decided to do it :-)
hope we can all share opinions files etc.. please join >> http://groups.yahoo.com/group/xdaminis/

to jus2gud:
if you have had w800, you'd better not to choose w810. both are basically the same one, except the design. w810 is cool with its black color and w800 is sport with its white color.
xda 02 mini s is basically pda with phone function. it is exclusively available in the uk and germany. other brands with the same design and function are available around the world.
i think both w810 or mini s have disadvantages as no product is perfect.
so...if you just need phone, do not choose mini s and vise versa.

Im awaiting this xda on an upgrade from 02, they gave me a choice of either this or the W810i....................please some1 tell me I made the right choice. Although they did say I can change within 14days, and I already have the W800 which ima pass onto my 9yr old cah I dont really use the walkman function and he does.
I went and had a look at this xda 2dy in the 02 shop and it does look like its a good lil machine but I wanna hear from those of u that tried and tested it.

what i have noticed is that if you do remove the o2 stuff and do a corporate setup, u end up missing out on the main screen menus (eg,today, custom, settings and help) the settings part is really good as you can quickly do into the task manager to see wots running, etc.
also yoiu lose the option of adding a background image onto your phone.
A prob i have found is that when you tap the phone icon on the left hand side that sometimes never opens.
has anybosy actually loaded up the new updated software from 02 yet ?? if so is it any better ??
also as someone else has posted yoiu cannot change the dam ringtones no matter where you paste the sound files......

"u get into a hotspot on WiFi, is it then free for your use?"
Generally, no. not to say I wouldn't use it. :) Although there was a guy prosecuted in the States recently for doing exactly this, piggybacking onto someone elses open network. Personally, I'd say the person should have secured their network, and deserves all they get!

Has anyone updated the ROM for their XDA Mini S yet to v2.21.4.101? I did at the weekend but a couple of things have started playing up. If you customise the today screen with a picture, after turning it off at night and turning it on the next day, the picture disappears to a default background but can seen when you click on Start. Any suggestions on how to resolve this?
The battery icon now appears next to the volume icon and cannot be added as an 'Item' as it doesn't appear as an item.
Any resolutions to this (besides clicking on the icon to see the battery level when it gets low)?
Anyone got any ideas where to find my 'Contacts' and calendar appointments as files within File Explorer? Reason I ask is that I am unable to set up my Wanadoo email account in MS Outlook 2002 so cannot active sync my contacts and calendar appointment set up on the phone to the contacts within MS Outlook 2002. Therefore, if I need to do a hard reset, I lose all my contact and calendar details!
Anyone know how to bluetooth pictures to another phone? You can beam it by infrared but not all phones have infrared.
Having had the phone for 2 months now it's still superb!
