When I had TT5 it ran so smooth, but now I have upgraded to TomTom 6 and it is lagging badly. Can anyone give me any assistance?

How much would TT6 cost to put into my XDA orbit. Is it cheaper elsewhere?

The orbit is a great phone but the free copilot software that came with it certainly is not! really slow and fiddly to use. Ive taken it off and put on TomTom 6 which is far better with clearer mapping, voice and also runs much quicker

          To Henning Ras,

thanks for your suggestions, but it shows all the maps perfectly ; my problem was that my Orbit device is not recieving valid GPS signal from sattelite. everytime i run the TT6 there , it shows connecting to or searching for valid GPS signal. Help me if u have any solution for this. thanks

            To Orbituk

When you install the maps onto the device,DO NOT PUT IT ALL IN ONE FOLDER!! If you did it like that to make the storage card look organized,it can not find the maps. All must be in the root of the micro sd card, meanoing all by itself.I had the same problem before and since I "opened" them,TT6 work perfectly on my device.

By the way,for those who struggle with Copilot, get rid of it or give to your worse neigbour! I sent me the fiosrt time on a SEVEN mile detour and all I had to do was walking down the road for ONE mile!!!

Soon you will be able to contact me through www.gnld-advance.com and then you can see what I have in mind for the Orbit to be developed.

                  Mr D,

                  It worked!
O2 phoned me up this morning and talked about my grievences and they offered me the Orbit on a £35 contract free with free copilot sat nav.
Because a new version of copilot is coming out and I idealy need the european version also I asked them to give me the value of the copilot sat nav in credit which they agreed.
So thats a free Orbit with a £35 contract for 12 months with £100 credit.
                  Job done :)

Thanks for the advice again Mr D.

Anyone now know when the Copilot live version 7 is out??? ;)

                  Cheers now :)

The scroll wheel gives you RSI for one handed use. They should have stuck to the DPad.
4 reasons why it gives you RSI
                          - The trackball requires fine motor control especially to move horizontally
                          - the scroll wheel is too inaccurate (in the calendar view, it is hard to go 3 days forward)
                          - the interaction between the hardware and software is too slow. As a result, you aren't sure if your movements have made a difference. As a result, you keep scrolling until you see something happen and then realise that you have gone too far.
                          - you have to hold the phone fairly delicately but then gently move the trackball mechanism

Grolsch30 UK, I understand what you're saying about why bothering but trust me if it works then it will be worth it. My letter was passed onto a young lady who understood where I was saying and why I was upset. The other thing you MUST point out to them are these new TV adverts that o2 give ALL the customers the same deals!!! Why if that was the case then if a new customer can get both the Orbit & Sat Nav for 'free' on a £40 pm contract, why cant an existing loyal customer get it free ??

Patience is the virtue, trust me I went though it and it worked......good luck !!

By the way does anyone know when Copilot Live 7 is available?
Apparently it should be out now, having read a review on it it should be realy good!

                              Cheers

                                Mr D,

I have phoned the retentions team and they seemed quite happy to give me my PAC code which I now have.
The first time I phoned them they said I would get it within 48 hours but I did not. So I phoned them again today telling them this and also telling them that I felt penalised and that they are not willing to recognise my loyalty by not upgrading for the last 2 years, and I am even willing to upgrade my tariff to £35. But alas still no free sat nav or £100 +/- cash back offer!
Told them about the offer from Orange for the SPV M700 with superior specs (bigger proccessor, 3G & also GPS), on a £35 tafiff with £100 - £150 credit on account depending on contract length.
It seemed like the little britain sketch if you know it where "the computer says NO", they just were'nt pro active or interested.

I am now sending a letter to the complaints review service and I shall see where that gets me but I am thinking why the hell am I bothering, got my PAC number just go to Orange!!!!
I suppose the reason is that I prefer the Orbit as it is just that little smaller and does have the better GPS chip in although all the reviews on the M700 have been very good!

Anyway I know know that I shall always upgrade every year from now on even though I may not want to, even if there is no phone I like I will just get on and then even sell it or give it away to a family member.

                                Rant over ;)

                                Cheers now

For Grolsch30 UK: I had a similar situation with o2 and was given contradicting info. from 2 different people at o2. In any case I then went onto their website and found that I could get the Orbit for free aswell as the Co-pliot software(that depends on your tariff). Was then told by o2 uogrades that o2 website though it was part of o2 it was a separate company and they could offer better deals (what a load of crap). In any case at this point I was disgusted and was happy to leave o2 but not without putting an official complaint letter forward, so I did to there complaints review dept. Told them what happend and that they did not give a damn about the existing customer blah blah........... and 2 weeks later had the Orbit and Software for free !!! (not technically, but they put the necessary credit onto my account so I was not charged) Give a go what do you have to lose??

How did you get your £100 cashback and £35 tariff with your free Orbit?

I just phoned them and all they would give me is the Orbit for free but I would have to buy the Co Pilot sat nav for £49.99, and I have not upgraded my phone for at least 2 years!
Anyway told them I will think about it and mentioned better spec'd Orange SPV M700 (HTC P3600), with 3G & GPS (even though GPS is not marketed by Orange the phone does have it), and said I may go to Orange.
I then asked for my PAC code which they have now ordered and hopefully will receive in the next 48 hours.
Maybe O2 will phone back with a better offer then again maybe not, then it's bye bye O2 and hello Orange :)

                                    Cheers now

I am wondering whether to get this phone on an upgrade with the free co pilot sat nav O2 are offering, but I have also looked at the Orange SPV M700 which is also made by HTC and has 3G and GPS. The GPS function is not mentioned in the Orange specs/ catologue but after some research the phone has definately got it in built. This plus the overall specs seem far better than the Orbit!

Now which one should I go for and which sat nav is best tom tom 6 or co pilot live 6???
